Now, this might be just me, but it seams to me like the Muliplayer and Custom Map features seam a lot more supported than that of CE. Now this is just a feeling but aside from content I think that we might be getting custom map support from Bungie and Hired Gun themselfs. Now, I know their busy and can't release maps every few weeks, but I think that once every couple of months we'll be getting some kind of high quality map that might be offered through a patch or just put up fr download sort of like what Bungie did with the Multiplayer Map Packet. Does anyone else have the same feeling or have I just gone crazy?

Seems possible. Just unlikely.

I think your crazy, hired gun was formed to port h2 to vista, not to support the game afterwards. Bungie is making halo3. We don't need them to give us maps though because the community can create much better maps than they can.

Since when has Bungie ever supported PC gamers since Marathon, anyway?

I'm sure in due time we'll see Tombstone and Desolation for H2V later, and who knows? Maybe Certain Affinity will make more custom maps for both Xbox and Vista.. but I'm sure the main factor in the wait is Live Anywhere.. probably haven't implemented the Live Marketplace, and the ability for it in games like H2V and ShadowRun or even Uno... so yeah, a while off for those.

What it is.

Well like it was pointed out in one of these threads. Someone over at HBO got Frankie to mention that the new maps wont be coming to Vista "any time soon". That means that we will eventually get them but probably not in the near future. But i like the idea TC, sounds like it might happen. Maybe not monthly but at least a few here and there would be cool.

The few, the proud, the leet.

If you cant tell, Bungie doesn't care enough about H2V to even list it as a project of theirs. Dont count on anything more than the game, patches on code exploits, and MGS's standard customer support.

if the dont care enough about it then why even make halo 1 for the pc, do i need to remind you that they have H2V has a xbox-live copy/thing just for it.

I would love to see new map upgrades that happen every once in a while, it would keep halo 2 pc fresh and with the paying for the matchmaker it would make sense for bungie as well.

I dunno, maybe because it(H1PC/CE) is already in exsistence?

They've said it themselves, they aren't working on it, it's not in the same builing, and it's not even in the same city. They aren't going to take the time to care beyond the small amount it will take them to approve the work.

I would like to see Bungie offering it's moddable fan base to submit maps for download. That, or open up map design to indie game companies and such so that they can promote the industry.

Think about it, they're still supporting Halo 2 on xbl almost three years after...

I bet that the only custom maps that we see for Halo 2 Vista is the 2 bungie makes, and the 2 or 3 Hired gun makes, that's it, maybe a few more before Halo 3's release. Other then that, I think it'll end up the players that think up, model, compile, and release the custom maps. Or at lest that's what I've seen happen with Halo CE.

I think the best that we'll get is a community map pack contest, similar to what id software did.

why, would bungie make maps here and there? They wont do it because what will they get if they make new maps? They wont get anything for it, you wont get more fans, and they will just please us when they dont have to.

I really think I would go with snowy, and besides, once they have finished with Halo 3, they might have spare time to complete maps for us just for fun or for more money. They will have to think of something new, eventually, and start for Halo 3 on the PC.

I thought Tombstone and Desolation were already included in H2V. H2V has 23 maps, and 2 are new and exclusive to H2V. Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but are there a total of 19 maps between what came on the disc and the first bunch of map packs for Halo 2. Since there are 23 maps in the pc game, the two recently released maps should be included in it.

Uplift and District are the two new exclusive maps coming with Halo 2.
