By the time Bungie decides to port Halo 3 ( If that happens in the first place), we'll bring up the same argument, Why waste your money on a old game? And who knows MS might bring out a new OS and make pppl buy it just to play H3. Just give it time, you never know bungie might cut us a break, and we'll get H3. I know i'll buy it no matter when it is released

For the last time, what about all those hardcore PC gamers who never bothered to play the Halo games because they were originally on the Xbox? There are plenty of people (like Iggwilv) who have never played or beaten the Halo 2 Campaign or (extensively) played the multiplayer portion because they want to experience it with a mouse and keyboard.

You're right, however.

Alright alright! I'm only 14 for christs sake! Give me a break! anyway, I don't think my PC's that bad, and I don't have enough money for a reasonably good computer!

Ditto. How much does the best PC cost anyway, like, $5000?
Nah dude, it's way more than that. Mine's not that close to being the best and it cost me about $4000. I think the XPS 710 H2C costs about $8K with max power. I'd rather get a car...

I don't own a XBOX or 360, but i have played halo and halo 2 on the xbox but it never caught on, because of the use of a controller. I can't wait for H2V to be released. Also when it came to consoles i never got the fact that they never came up with a gamepad and mouse to be used for the console. It could work if they tried. That would striclty be used for FPS but thats just an idea.

Most of the PC issues posted here are the result of PEBKAC.

H3 will be ported eventually, but DX10 is new and it needs a year or so to work out on home PC's. Because of Vista and the 360's connectivity, we might see a port sooner than we think.

H3PC and H2PC in the same year = bad.

The few, the proud, the leet.

Wont happen anytime soon simply because of computer hardware. The 360 has a prototype R600 onboard, and that would make it be the ABSOLUTE BARE MINIMUM requirement. It wouldn't be anywhere near economical for a game to be released with such high minimum requirements as the user base probably wouldn't be high enough to even cover economic profit.. If you think H2V's minimum requirements on three year old hardware is high, imagine how Halo 3's would be in relation anytime before 2010.

Not happening. They said it wasn't themselves. It's possible for ANOTHER company to do it, but it'd take alot longer than the Halo 2 port.

Oh and, PC will always outdo consoles.

No, you're mistaken. The Xbox360 has a "run-down"/modified X1900XT, and does not do DX10. The requirements wouldn't be that high, with optimization.

I didn't say they would have the port ready in a year, I was saying that H3 might use DX 10 and it could take years for a full port because of it. That doesn't mean we won't get it because we got the last two Halo games, so I think Bungie is starting to see that the PC market is indeed worthy.

No, I'm not mistaken. The 360 uses a prototype R600. Do remember that this GPU was in the works for at least three years before the 360's launch. Of course it doesn't use DX10, it's a console. It uses specialized code that is neither DX9 nor DX10. It's somewhat of a hybrid, a mutant, and a new species all at once. The chip might have been developed with the name of C1 R500, but it is rediculously similar to the R600 design. 48 unified shaders and native architecture that allows 4x FSAA; if you believe that's a trimmed down X1k series GPU, there's little to nothing I can do to save you. Xenos is a prototype R600, simple as that.

I have to admit, I would agree if I didn't have a 360.

  • 04.24.2007 8:26 AM PDT

At a guess I would say that it would come out around mid 2009. It's definetly going to come out. Why would you not make the last one when the previous two were ported? I can't justify buying halo 2 for pc though, Only reason I picked up halo 1 because it had a real online component where as halo 1 xbox didn't have any online.

I've also learned this lesson the hard way. If you say "Xbox" in the Maw, every pc gamer here will automatically hate you. I dunno why they hate the xbox so much, I personally think 360>pc, but I never used any pc better than a 360 before except maybe at bestbuy a month ago running Half life 2. (Horrible fps I may add, but I dunno).

Atleast their not mac fanbois.

I don't really have a grudge against either of them, I like them both. I do not like the p$3 though because it costs too much money:D(Jk)

I was going to say it would help them push vista if they put it out sooner but in the end all new computers will have vista in about 5 years anyway.

I have a felling that it won't be ported over, seeing as the 360's graphics are far supirior to a computer's. And even if it did come out it would have to have a complete overhaul, so as not to use up all your computer's space.

Kim, that is way beyond epic fail. That's like, celestial fail.

Vanilla Oblivion PC (Before) and High Res Tex Pack (After)

Nuff said.

Jammy, go get a clue before you post. Ok?

Let there be CHAOS!

why would anyone pay $5000 for a computer unless you were disgustingly rich? My computer altogether was $1100 and runs everything on high at about 1600xsomething resolution (Doom 3, Halo, CS Source, Half Life 2, etc.)

Two bucks says Bungie isn't doing the port.

Im gonna make a screenshot of that because maybe Halo 3 would be ported, and then say bye bye to the 2 bucks :)

I built a computer when i was 14 a year before 360 came out for 1500 english pounds (symbol isnt working) the then equivalent of just over 2000$ it was better then than the 360 and is now even better with the addition of another graphics card. Computers are years ahead of consoles even that computer wasnt 100% top of the range. Im convinced all of the Halo games will come out for PC eventually when they can be arsed but for me Halo 2 is now so out of date all im really intrested in is the storyline. I think Bungie and mircosoft need to remeber theres a poitn were no more people arent gonna be convinced into buying a x-box for there game and then they should then release it for computer. I think that point came a good year or so ago. And to all the console players i cant understand how you play an fps with a controler i cant aim for -blam!- with those things, gonna be worth getting Halo2 to play against x-box players and finally show them how much better the mouse and keyboard combo is. And there is also no doubt about Halo2 for PC now at all people have played working versions of it on vista PC's.

Simple, don't post if you don't know what you are talking about, or want to be proven wrong.

I am notdisgustingly richand have a $9,000 computer. I saved up for it, and the reason you Should want it, because it is superior to anything else out there in gaming, and everything else.
