Yes, I am a hypocrite, and I'm sorry. I really do mean well, but I'm not running on all cylinders.

Everytime someone buys a copy of Halo 2 Vista, a puppy dies.

To join your server use Multiplayer -> DIrect IP; enter 127.0.0.1 as the adress. If that doesn't work, open a command prompt, type IPCONFIG and use the IP adress provided there. Aside from that, I have no idea why the server doesn't show players joining. I don't remember it ever showing them anyway o_O

i fixed the problem from some of the people who post here thank you and a word of advice if you need help dont post on the halo combbat evolved forum page this question went unanswered for a week and the only comment i got was my spelling errorss anyway.
and if this helps any one else i changed halos in game ports to 2304 and 2305 i then forwarded port 80 tcp and 2300 to 2305 udp than on the dedicated server exe i put in -port 2301 and now it works and now i can host halo games just thought id end this thread with the solution i appreciate all the help this forum has given me but you gust shouldnt care how i spell or puncuate were gamers not english professors well some of you may be but thats beyond the point thanks again

p.s. i also didnt have to put down my microsoft fire wall i just exempted halo halo custom edition and halo dedicated server and the server stilll works

A word of advice, if you want help present your problem in a way that is clear and easy to understand. I stopped reading your post after a few lines because I kept having to stop and figure out where one sentence ends and another begins. If you had put periods in there proper place I would have read through it once, understood it and then replied if I knew what the answer was(and I did). Most people quickly read forums and respond so they can move on to other things.

It matters, because if you can't communicate things clearly then people wont understand you. If people can't understand you then they can't help you. Therefore, you should always do your best to write as legibly as possible.

Logic prevails again! Couldn't have said it better myself, Seraph.
