Multiplayer all the way! After all, I've done the campaign, thought it was crap, and we don't get the game until 10 days after the US here. Need to catch up!

Master Kim created a topic? With a poll?!? Wow, you see something new everyday. Play the campaign for a little bit (hour or so), just to get the controls down, then feel free to switch to multiplayer.

Okay, but it's not like this is a bad thing, right?

I thank you for your great words of wisdom, McKeegan. Normally, I would jump right into multiplayer, but since I've never played Halo 2 with a mouse and keyboard, I should try to become familiar with the controls before I play multiplayer.

The downside is, it will give all those noobs an upper hand on me... and that's something I can't allow! (Although it won't really matter, considering I'll probably play the game after everybody else has played it in the afternoon.)

I've played the campaign at my neighbors house, but always had the problem of their crap sound system, and the fact that I had to beat a level before their dad came in and told me to leave. So I never really immersed myself like I intend to on May 8th...

Remember to use the campaign as a benchmark for graphics so you don't lag down to 15 fps right during a gun fight. Another reason to play the campaign first.

You do realize Campaign levels are exponentially larger than multiplayer maps are, right? Battle Creek could run smooth as silk but my machine breaks down when twenty-something Covenant throw frag grenades at me on Assault on the Control Room.

Do they really? I only seem to remember them throwing plasma grenades on all the levels. I'll have to play it again and look closer.

Excuse me, I meant Marines, not "Covenant." If you know what I mean. :)

Thats exactly my point, if you can get it to run smooth on a huge campaign map, then there should be no problem on a 16 player dedicated server.

Ah, I mistook what you said for something else. Good idea.

Or you could take the long way to bench mark and play the Campaign to find out for yourself. :D

Oh yes... many a time I kept reverting back to a savepoint to re-do an encounter so as to save as many Marines as possible. My reward? Someone yelling "Throwing frag!" and the lovely "tink-tink-tink" sound at my feet a few moments later.

Sometimes I just stick them. That'll teach them to "frag out" at me.

By the way, it seems that the Blue-Chief snipers strike again!

I restart entire levels if I think I could have done better saving marines. I played Metropolis like four times because it saved checkpoint after my marines died. And yes, the *tink tink tink* always makes me warm inside =)

One of the few things in Halo 2 I've liked over than the first game was the fact that grenades don't have to wait 3-5 seconds to explode. Perhaps it's unrealistic that a frag grenade blows up in mid-air when it's thrown against a hard surface at an oblique angle, but nonetheless it makes the action more fast-paced.

Not that Halo's grenades aren't as dangerous.

In the future anything is possible. It's actually a better design though. Think about it, if you trip a fuse accidentally, you might die. But with this, you have to throw it at something, good design.

You should start by making some kind of Godly map based on your mom.

wow... what's your age again?
Probably a lot older than you, kid.

Anyway, about that map thing, it would tie in with multiplayer, so I may as well vote that.

should have phrased that differently... 'what's your intellectual level? It seems deceptivly low when you start talking about someone else's mother...

who the hell cares so what if he said something about someones mom.ill show u my intellectual level when i make a map based on ur mom lol and i will give here purple nipples.lol all those who play halo2 and played bearil mounds know what im talking about lol
