It is people like you that make people like me need medication.

Umm I call bs on that. I play Halo 2 all the time on the 360 and back then xbox. It doesn't look near that bad for me.

Granted I have no doubt it will look better on PC. However it don't look near that bad.

Steam: RageRunner32 | StarCraft II: RageRunner | Lets play Pc sometime :)

<3

Not suprising that the visuals beat a 3 year old game. That's like expecting Half-Life's visuals to be on the same level as Half-Life 2's

I lol at the people that say "They deliberately took bad screenshots of the xbox version".

Hey everybody, most CRT TVs are displayed in 480i (95% sure), and have a resolution of 640x480. Of course you don't notice it as much, mainly because you don't sit a foot away from your TV, like you do at your computer. Go took a look at the video, and see for yourself. It looks much better.

And I have to say myself, I was a bit weary on how the new ones looked, as I stated in previous threads, but now, it looks to be much better.

xbox 360 supports 1280X1024

i second that!!! when i play halo on xbox on a standerd tv it never looks that bad.then when i play on my 360 on a HD at 1080i its looks ugly when u really colse but when ur like a few feet away its the best stuff ever.then i play it with the vga connection on the 360 and play on 1280x720. the games looks soo good from colse and from far.but its still nothing to the higher reasalutoins that the pc version supports.

There is a reason 1600x1400 is "godly" as no mere mortal will touch it as it's even more square than 1280x1024, humans like widescreen. :P

Anways, the 360 supports 1080p which is 1920x1080, not that it matters since the source material for the xbox version stays the same no matter if you play it on a regular xbox or 360.

Yea I am not saying that they intentionally took bad shots but I know damn well It looks better then that. I play Halo 2 at 720P

Even back in the days on my 27 inch SDTV they don't look that bad. I just got done playing some more just now and made it a point to look at Zanzibar for example and it looks a ton better then their pictures. That is a fact too. That isn't opinion. If it looked that bad I would admit it but it doesn't. Even in Standard def it don't look as bad as those shots.

Oh and to prove a point. Here is a screenshot taken from Gamespots media pages for Halo 2 on the Xbox

What it is.

The reason why those xbox screens looks so bad is because they took a high-res pic from H2V, and blew up an xbox pic to match that res, and that's the outcome. Also, an xbox(not 360) can only support 480p(for halo 2 anyway) and doesn't have AA so the pic is very jaggy and less clear. Either way, the xbox version may not seems to looks that bad, but in comparison to the PC version it's clear that they do. Also, i think Vista looks great and you can easily tell the difference.

Actually Halo and Halo 2 on the 360 can display in 720p. Their Emulation routines allow them to display in 720p. Microsoft made it a point to make that improvement to them. They really look nice. Of course you do notice the lower res textures at times. More so on plants and such.

And true. Nobody is saying that the PC version isn't better. Obviously it will look better.

It is just a bit shady how they went about comparing them. The video is better though. Interesting tidbit in the video. Apparently it will have 3 settings for graphics.

Low, Med, High

When set to low they will look like the Xbox version. Obviously Medium and High will look better. So talk about interesting.

CMT Mod team leader

Looks wonderfull on vista. However, I don't remember H2X looking that bad, and I was playing it on 360 for the first time in ages today.

The bungie.net community is the halo PC community that is renowned for being unbelieveably sucky.

Redoing the textures is the key here. Scaling low res textures does very little. H2 on the 360 at 1080p, for example, may appear sharper than 480p, but there is no actual improved detail.

No doubt, H2V is going to look great!

idk about any of you guys, but after watching all these h2v and halo 3 videos and trailers, going back to halo 2, even on my 360 in 720p on a gloss monitor, look absolutely horrible.
and if you guys were wondering why some of those shots were blurry, they are all upscaled in order to take the pictures. also that last one of blue base was taken while zoomed in.

Let there be CHAOS!

I'm just not seeing it. The only difference I notice between the Xbox and Vista, is that the they have the screen at a wider resolution and the gamma is turned up. I really don't see any other difference.

EDIT: Well the SMG looks a little better, but like... slightly.

The xbox version DOESN'T look that bad. I don't have an xbox but from the ones i have seen they are nothing like the screens they have taken on there. It does look like they have taken a photo of a tv screen and cut it down to size.

Also, a lot of the vista screens look washed out to be honest. I was really expecting more shader details and sweeping effects but it doesn't really look any different to Halo1 on the pc.

Ok, in case ALL of you retards didn't notice this, those shots are ZOOMED IN. For both the xbox and PC, so of course they don't look as good as when they're not zoomed. Just the PC does a better job when zoomed because the textures are high res, idiots...-_-

The reason you do not think there is much of a difference is because your tv is farther away from you than your monitor. If you put them side by side and looked at them from the same distance, you would notice the sizable difference higher res textures, AA, AF, and higher resolution make.
