What it is.

^Your gfx card might work, highly doubt it though. I used to have a 9600SE, traded it out for a 9800Pro, then went to Nvidia because i got better performance for the $$$. Since a x700 is equivalent or something to a 9700 i'd say that card is below the requirements. But one of those other cards you said you wanted to get would be good for this game.

i would get one a x1950 but certain other expenses are not allowing me to do it. prom, car,gf. so i need to kinda dish out 100 for halo with gold and 250 for a badass video card.

It will run. The Graphics card needs a tiny upgrade.

I have a:

AMD AM2 5000+
M2N32-SLI-Deluxe Wireless Edition "Motherboard"
DDR2 533 512MB RAM (will upgrade to DDR2 800 2x1GB when i can afford it)
Geforce 7600GT 256MB
250GB HDD
Sony dual layer DVD/CD burner

I can play Halo at absolute max details (Everything set to the highest) with 16xAF at a constant 50-60+ FPS at a resolution of 1280x1024 (which is what my 17' monitor supports), but when it comes to high levels of blasts (grenades exploding, plasma bolts flying all at the same time on the screen etc) my frame rate will decrease to 30-40 and sometimes will even go below 30 FPS (I once killed an Elite walked over its body and constantly melee'd it for several minutes until there was nothing but purple blood everywhere and my Frame Rate dropped below 10 but when i look away it goes back to 50-60+).

What I want to know is what resolution will I be able to play H2V on and at what detail. I don't mind having to play at 1024x768, just as long as i can have high levels of details 16xAF. I don't really care about AA, as i find resolutions at 1280x1024 on a 17' monitor, you don't really take notice of the stair stepping.

You need 1GB to run Halo 2 Vista, You'll need to upgrade it.

Intel® Core™2 Duo Processor E6700
4GB Dual Channel DDR2 SDRAM at 667MHz - 4 DIMMs
Creative® Sound Blaster® X-Fi™ Elite Pro
NVidia® GeForce™ 7950 GX2
Dell® 20 in. Widescreen UltraSharp™ Flat Panel (1680x1050)

Would a GeForce 7950 GX2 run H2V at 1680x1050 with max settings at a high framerate? (High framerate = 60 fps)

if you read my specs, i clearly stated that i will be upgrading to a DDR2 800 2x 1GB of RAM. I want to know at what resolution will i be able to run the game on at max details.

And as for running H2V with a 7950GX2, my m8 has a 7900GT and I've seen him run halo at an astonishing constant 300 fps at 1280x1024 (max settings) with v-sync turned off. He said the horizontal tearing was so bad that he had to enable v-sync which made the game run abnormally slow. (Refresh rate = 60Hz, so the game should run at 60 fps but it ran lower than that). So i'm guessing you will be able to run H2V at that resolution with max settings at-least around 80fps or more

A 7950GX2 will run H2V at 1650x1080... even though the 7950 scales horribly.

And a little lesson for everyone about FPS:

ALL monitors, CRT or LCD/Plasma, have a max screen refresh rate in Hertz for each screen resolution.
60 Hz was the standard for years, and that means 60 frames per second, period.
If you are running your monitor at 60Hz your video card could be pumping out 200 FPS and you’re still only going to get 60FPS actually displayed.

(i know that this card is poor this days, but i going to buy whole new computer in upcoming months, so i have to stay some more time with this one). I dunno exact specifications of my card, so i want ask if i can play this game, at least on minumum details, and mainly if i will be able to even run it. My other parts of computer are crappy too... Athlon 2600+, 1,5gb ram. Thx for answer.

Well, it should be able to, I think (low res, low sets). But technically, its half of the minimal requirement.

Ok so I have a NVIDIA GeForce 7900 GS and I know that it’s a pretty good video card but what settings can I expect to be able to run on h2v? the rest of my computer checks out but here’s the specs anyways…
Intel Core 2 Duo @ 2.13 GHz
2 Gigs ram
The 7900 GS
And all the other stuff
250 gig Hard Drive
Vista Home Premium
The DVD drive of course
and I think that’s all you’ll be needing

Thanks!

We should sticky this.

I've asked Recon to sticky this before (before as in a few days ago). But for some reason it isn't worthy. That, or he just ignored me =D

As a contextual side-note, I've also asked Recon for the H2V Gamertag list to be stickied as well.

I'm not at all worried about my machine, but i'd figured i'd post my specs anyways. I'm dual booting vista ultimate and xp pro right now, and with VS2005, SQL2005, Photoshop CS2, iTunes and Firefox it runs like a champ.

3.2 p4 800
2GB 667 DDR2
7900 GT 256MB
X-Fi Extreme Audio
RAID-0 (80GB) with 200GB eSata, 250GB Storage

SecondBox
Old HP Pavilion a1030n
Beefed up to 2.5GB 400 DDR2
Onboard video and sound (lame mobo doesn't support pci-x)
40GB HDD Running Kubuntu 7.10 Fiesty Fawn

Just wondering, what core is your P4? I have a celeron with a P4 Cedar Mill core.

Its the 641 Cedar, though its only a single core, it still handles everything fairly well.

Just curious, why match a 620 wd, and a seagate in a raid-0?? your far better off matching the hdd exactly. otherwise just do a JBOD.

Ok here are my specs:

Intel Core Duo 2.0 Ghz (Core Duo == Dual Core)
1 GB DDR2 SDRAM
250 GIG SATA HD
ATi Mobility Radeon x1600 256 MB
Pioneer 8X Dual Layer DVD Burner
Integrated High Definition SigmaTel Audio

(By the way, this isn't a laptop, it's a mobility radeon because I'm running an iMac (small form factor) that is triple-booting Mac OS X, Windows Vista Ultimate and Windows XP Pro. I assume the mobility radeon has the same capabilities as the normal-sized version...)

Apparently my processor is performance-rated at 3.75 Ghz :-)
