I would like to know if anyone else is worried about Bungie's reputation, as far as updating and releasing when they say they will.

What I mean is, Bungie said they were going to release Halo 2 at a certain time, and they postponed it. There have been updates and releases for Halo 2 and other products that have been delayed due to difficulties or otherwise. The new Halo 2 maps Tombstone and Desolation aren't going to be added to matchmaking yet, and the stats aren't being reset, for another week now, although they said it was schedualed for this week (the 24th). I understand it's technical difficulties in communication or some technicality with Xbox Live, but what's to say this kind of thing won't happen with the Halo 3 Beta, schedualed for May 16th? What if "difficulties" arise, or they decide to postpone it slightly, and do reschedualing again? They could move the "beta end" date and the "beta release" date if need be. Is it securely this date?

I respect Bungie, and I don't mind waiting as long as it takes for everything to work out and be fully tweaked and fixed, but do you think I should worry about the Beta being delayed at all? Do you think it's a possibility? Like I said, I don't care about how long I have to wait. I just want to know if I can be so sure that they will keep up with their current schedual.

Well... consider that if Bungie releases everything on time, but it turns out that the timely products are lackluster, then what shall become of their reputation?

...And they did always say to ignore release dates...

See, now that's ^^^^ just the icing on the cake.

I'm not at all worried about Bungie's reputation.. They've made amazing games, and looks like they're still making them. What more reputation do they need than keeping promises (even if what you think is a 'promise' is just a 'rough estimate') and delivering delicious games, like Marathon, Myth, and the Halo Series?

  • 04.26.2007 7:56 PM PDT

If you don't got it, you want it. If you got it, you want more of it. Of course if you don't know what it is, it's hard to get any in the first place.

Reputation? Tarnished off something like this?

Pshaw. Ask me that when Bungie actually makes a bad game.

because if seeing is believing,
then believe that we have lost our eyes

Good lord they move a matchmaking update back a few days to focus on another problem and eveybody thinks Bungie never does anything right.

This is a signature.

In it's current position, it serves almost no good, and, therefore, there is no reason to put anything important into it.

It was me. I wrote it (I'm THC Bear's friend, I wrote that on his name).

I didn't mean to imply that I was criticizing Bungie's reputation as a whole. I simply had their reputation at making certain deadlines in mind.

However, I am sorry that my friend and I were misinformed. Although I think my point was slightly valid, you are right. I don't have a full legitimate reason to have doubt in Bungie. But like I said, I was simply putting doubt on release dates. It's not a crime.

Like I said, I have total respect and faith that Bungie will do everything in their power to make us all happy and create amazing games and good times to be had by all.

He wasn't impersonating anyone, he was using a friends login. What Im doing now is impersonation.

Its good to know the rules, its even better to know what they mean.

Oh my gosh. I am so sick of seeing impersonators here. I am so glad that I didn't put an "l" (ell) or a capital "I" (eye) in my name when I first came here. You people who do this annoy me. I do not want to have to wonder if someone's post is the person who I'm used to seeing post.

I find people who spout off rules that they have no comprehension of even more annoying. If your gonna play forum cop, then at least know the rules.

Right now, I'm more concerned that you said "Oh my gosh."

I would rather have Bungie postpone to make the product better than it come out on time.....and everything is always delayed a lil bit....every game out there / movie in production, everything....

Bungie has never given us a hard date for anything and then changed it. Yes, sometime's they've said maps or playlists will be out "next week" and then bumped the timeframe.

I understand that waiting is something hard to do for the 13-18 MTV quick instant gratification generation, but it's the proper thing for a consumer responsible company to do sometimes. Would you rather have an unfinished product released on time, or a finished product delayed?

No offense taken (by me) and I hope that I didn't offend anyone.

I'm offended that you'd think someone's offended by your offensive statement.

You people have just sent my sides into orbit. A bunch of MLG try hards sucking the dick of some supposed pro half the thread hasn't even heard of. Classic.

Trust me. Bungie and is doing just fine with their release dates and everything else. If you need proof just look at 3D Realms. Their pet project of Duke Nukem Forever has been going on for at least 6 years. Now they do not even try to give a date anymore. So in my opinion Bungie is doing a stellar job and their rep is just fine.

There is a reason I am user ID 1 and my account creation date is before this site came online.

**Cries a little inside thinking of Duke Nukem Forever**

I always wondered what the "forever" part meant, and now I know!!

Even if Bungie's reputation was absolute crap, and they produced a good quality product, I'd still buy it. I mean, even I have gone to Wally-World in the past month, and everyone knows their reputation isn't that great.
