I noticed this strange thing happen a long while back, and it just happened again. I made a thread, the first reply to it was the word "no" (don't ask). Then I edited my first post. When I finished editing, the first reply had disappeared. Now it happened it again, only the first reply was, "wow" (again, don't ask).

Is there a rule against making trite, pointless replies, a rule that the moderators are particularly careful to enforce? Or is this some weird glitch in the forums?

I work for the Department of Defense.

A moderator can Edit, Delete, Alter, Move, Hide...And do anything else they seem warranted.

Anyone but Foman. He smells like cheese.

no

wow

:-P just kidding.

EDIT: darkm0d, you haven't answered his question at all. He knows that the moderators have these abilities -- he is asking whether or not they've been deleting individual posts recently and, if so, why. Neither you nor I know the answer to this question, so it's probably just best if we let a mod answer.

Hmmm.. I've noticed a glitch (usually when locking a thread) where posts just vanish and the index says a thread has 0 replies.

I am guessing it was simply a glitch (as moderators only delete posts on rare, warranted occasions).

Alternatively, the person who posted "No" could have been blacklisted (that hides their post until their ban expires).

That's all I can think of.

PS. To give you an idea of how rare a deleted post is...

I can only recall one time where I deleted one (It was mine. I was sorting out the aforementioned glitch; I had to double post and then delete the second post so that the replies were visible again).

Ok, strange thing. The "wow" post came back, after it was edited. I don't what on earth is going on with these forums. I had one thread had a 11 or so replies, but in the main forum webpage, it showed that there were only 8 or so replies.
