Sketch is now in charge of MM, yet I have never seen him post in optimatch or, at all on the forums to be honest. I know he posts, but it is very rare, and most of the time unimportant. On top of all of this, there has been a massive change in the MM system with no explination or commentary by the guy running it. What do you guys think?

Anyone but Foman. He smells like cheese.

Sure, why not? He does post in the forums occasionally, but you're right that it's not often. I know that we'd love to see another Bungie employee interacting with the community as well and as often as Achronos does.

I don't know if he "should" post more often, but I'm pretty much in favor of ANYBODY posting more often if they are a cool person and have interesting things to say.

Ninja 0n Fire used to always post and discuss things with the community and even though his contract went up he STILL does it.

I like to Rollick

The bungie.net forums isn't the only community and he explained the changes in the weekly update. It would be nice if he could post more but it doesn't bother me that he doesn't.

true.. we understand he is busy, but don't give someobdy a title that they don't deserve. I'm not trying to insult anyone though. I'd much rather he be working on whatever he does with Halo 3 (if anything) rather than sitting around talking to our fat asses.

But this is Bungie's own website. Surely this should be Bungie's first port of call for reaching the public. This must be the only official website i know of where the company don't post their own press releases and stuff on the front page.

Anyway, I agree that this is true, but the community guy is seen to be active on other, unnoficial, community sites, but very rarely, if ever, here. Why is that?

My best guess? Probably because someone was specifically hired to take care of the content of this site. We can all thank the Scottish educational system for the result.

Well, then that raises the question is why is he never seen here, save the updates and the occasional post, usually with nothing to do with bungie. We get more input from the web team, who's job it is to maintain the technical side of the website, than we do the community team.

-Quaere verum.

Got a report? Use the report tool or send a pm.
Chairleg Productions presents: 'Console Wars' and 'Games as Art?' (also on Halo Waypoint).

I can only assume that you are worried something bad might happen to the playlists if he doesn't post on the forums. Remember, just because someone doesn't post, doesn't mean they don't visit the forums. As a community guy, should it be part of his duty to frequent this site? Perhaps, it should but that's not the issue here. All i can say is Don't Panic.

I think actually Recon brought up a very interesting point. I think it is becoming apparent that one reason that some people are here is to meet Bungie folk. Now, in an ideal world everyone would be happy and friends and that really would be super. The cold hard fact is that these guys are making a very important and large game in many respects and so i don't believe that they should feel the obligation to post around this place (again, that's not to say they don't visit it).

I expect to talk about halo, Bungie themselves, and even about Pimps At Sea.

I do like seeing the mods and those special guys once in a while but I don't see that we need to see their pretty icons everyday, or even every month. I'm sir stosh is enjoying the hawt women and whatever else he's seeing.

Sure!
That makes sense!

Let's have him neglect his more important duties so he can spend his days on the forums, fielding the never-ending barrage of ignorant speculatory questions from the consistently hateful and ungrateful.

Sounds like a winner to me.
Let's just go ahead and put the OP up for the Nobel Prize while we're at it.

Or he could just make 1 thread called "The reasons behind them upcoming update" post those reasons, then allow us to discuss it while he doesnt post anymore. Or he could be a bit more like his predecessor NoF. Or he could make all of his posts on these forums instead of HBO and other sites.

Or all the spoiled brats could stop acting like they're owed something.
I don't see that we as a community have any reasonable expectation to be privy to more information than what is provided by the WWU.
As Recon already said, this is not a support site.

Wait....are you upset because I didn't suggest that you be submitted for the Nobel prize instead?

Imagine that your office building at a special room.
In that room were thousands of people (alleged fans) who were chronically pissed off, largely for no reason.
In that room the din of complaining and whining was deafening.

Would you ever go into that room if you didn't have to?

For Bungie...this site is that room.

Everytime Bungie changes something or releases new information the community erupts into a whine-fest.
When they don't release information or change anything, the community complains that they're being ignored.

If I were a Bungie employee, I'd never visit this site unless unless my avatar was a picture of me giving you all the finger, and was accompanied by an audio file that repeated "STFU" every 10 seconds.

The Frozen Minority - The most infamous clan borne from the Seventh Column.

I do believe he should. For the Community Guy to be largely inactive, the community feels somewhat abandoned. I know that's how a lot of members feel when linked to a post on HBO and the amount of posts by Frankie or KP (those are just the first in my mind) in a single thread outnumbers their amount over a total year on these boards.

When the community guy doesnt post on these boards for months straight, yet posts numerous times in other areas it leads the community to feel abandoned.
