Hey Death...Recon posted several pages ago that this is not a support site.

Where did I ever say it was a support site?

Don't let that information stop you from acting an ass.

Prehaps you should stop trying to be a smartass and attacking people on statements that theyve never made.

When the Bungie staff interacts with us, it's because they want to. When you demand it, it makes them want to even less and thus reduces the chances that they will in the future. Then why give one of them the title "community guy" if he isnt supposed to at least in some part, post in the community.

And based on your replies, if I am understanding correctly, people who are unable to "contain their enthusiasm" and respond loudly, rudely, or abusively, those members should be removed from the site. I think that there would be a lot of people removed (and returning using alternate accounts) because they couldn't maintain civility. And do you expect that when they come back on that 2nd (or 22nd) account that they will be more or less outspoken?
No, I was refering to people who flame or attack bungie officials, as you guys have used as an excuse for your lack of presence on this site.

Just look at what happened with a handful of members who thought that Jeremiah was their scratching post regarding 1v1 or Clanmatch. Now add BTB and other "my favorite list" zealots. Each of those people thinking that they have the attention and ear of a long-time Bungie employee.
If he presented these matters as closed and gave the reasons they would realize they DONT have his attention, and that it is merely an explination.

Do you really anticipate the discussion to be calm, logical and to reach any sort of understanding? You know the, "I guess that while I may not agree with your choice, I respect and understand how you came to it" sort of result? I know that a handful of members are capable of verbalizing those words, but not many.
I think a lot of responses would be something similar to "well what if" but who cares? If they want to throw out a million ideas for something they are being told is a closed topic let them. It will keep the dumb people who would do such a thing stuck in one forum so be happy about that.

IMO, if Sketch (or anyone) decided to make public posts on the forums a part of their regular duties, they would see the forums as a "dunk tank" at a school fair. You know, when the principal is there and people try to drown him? Or take turns throwing pies.
I didnt say regular posting, I said more often, and I specifically said one post numerous times. I understand that people would try to attack them, but once again, these are the people who are being asses and taking from the general quality of the forums.

That makes absolutly no sense to me...

Therein lies the problem.

Ah yes, avoid the point to attempt a substandard attack on another user. In your thirties I figured you could come up with something better... :(<--my disappointed in the failure of another user face.

I actually agree with Recon. Bungie employees should not post in the forums in an official capacity, excepting rare Q&A events, and imo, those should be kept to news articles. Such as the upcoming update, a news article explaining the situation could easily be made and a lot of questions could be cleared up.

While I agree that any official word should be made here first, members liked Death and MLG Achronos have proven via this thread that this community isn't capable of more than making demands and stamping their feet if those demands aren't met. Where did I demand anything? I asked a series of questions and gave my opinion. My opinion is that of a user, nothing more, i'm just giving my view of things. Please stop making assumptions. First you thought I said that this was a support site, when I didnt, now you are saying that I am trying to make demands. I have no power on this site, and as such anything I say is simply a request or suggestion, nothing more. Please stop trying to put words in the mouths of others, it is really tiring.

It's unreasonable for officials to post at least twice a week? They posts like 20 times a week on HBO.

The difference between obligation and recreation has already been explained more than once.
Either you weren't paying attention, or you have trouble with reading comprehension.

Did he ask if they were obligated? No, he asked if it was a reasonale request... Nice attempt on bringing up reading comprehension when you were wrong though.

I think what Shiv is trying to say is that inability to grasp a concept does not make the concept invalid.
And another attempt by twinkie to insult the intellignce of other members, no wonder he is a member of the trolls.

I'm impressed that you managed to find yet another way to say everything that you've already said numerous times in this thread.
Really, it doesn't ever get redundant. I could listen to you yammer on all day.
While you're at it, see if you can't get MLG Achronos back in here. He was fun too.

They do not.

Exaggeration is not helping your cause. You, in particular, since I have already twice today nearly permanently banned you for violating the impersonating Bungie employees rule.

For example, do a search for posts by SketchFactor here and on halo.bungie.org. You'll find similar months long gaps in posting. Usually he'll pop in for a thread, and leave for months. You'll find he does that on bungie.net too.

Frankie posts on other boards (including Hbo) more than here, but remember, he spends a lot of his time writing content and features for the articles here. I think that buys him a little bit of a pass from getting into the thick of things here - but he still does some posting.

And, of course, I post here waaaaaaaaaaaay more than I post on HBO.

So, I fail to see what you are complaining about, unless you have some sort of tunnel vision and think that just because we have our own forums that we should cut out the rest of the world, even in cases where those fans (HBO, for example) have been around longer and were fans before you had even heard of Halo - and in some cases, before they had even heard of Halo (blam.bungie.org!). I am not going to apologize for our participation in other parts of the global Halo community just because you are jealous. Oh, and stop bringing the moderators into this - they don't have to post for them to be effective. Generally, they shouldn't be posting their disciplinary messages to the public now - that's the entire point of the warning system. So, I suggest you stop pretending that post quantity is some weird measure of performance or quality. It isn't. That's why we removed it from the forum.

Goodness, you're like a cheerleader..

Anyway, I would have to disagree on one point. I understand Frankie is a busy man, or that's how he comes across, but he does post an awful lot on other forums. Even a few more posts from him, especially on the big topics, would be nice. I'm so very glad he came in and debunked the "That's not Frankie on those other forums!" that was going on in the Halo 3 forum threads regarding the M6G Pistol.. But it seems like he could post here a bit more. However, I'm a selfish, jerk-like person, so either way I'm content with my enormous ego. :D

I am jealous, aint even gonna lie. I wish I can have direct conversations with Frankie about Halo3 and what Bungie plans on doing after the Halo series comes to an end but I can't since apparently he dislikes the community.

Did you just say you want to hear all about Bungie's future, top-secret plans regarding Halo 3 AND their NEXT project? That may be your problem right there.

Never said that. I said I would love to discuss things of that nature. Like if Bungie even will create a new game after Halo 3 or simple need to know stuff about Halo 3, not everything.

Everything any Bungie employee will tell you about Halo 3 is already known. You're not going to get some 'extra tidbits' from Frankie, anything more than a the Weekly Updates. Any of Bungie's new projects will not be announced until long after Halo 3's release.

You're basically asking for Frankie to tell you all the Bungie secrets. It's ridiculous. :P Even if he posted more, or "liked the community" (even though I believe he does, minus a few here and there) he still wouldn't be discussing Bungie's next project, or any new content from Halo 3 unless it was in the form of a Weekly Update or other various Top Stories.

LMAO. Think about it. This is Frankie's job. He posts on HBO more because that isn't his job. Dha. Do you happen to frequent the site of the company you work with?

Uh....... I doubt it. Although Frankie's job is "funner", it is still a job. He probably doesn't even get enough time to post here during his normal work hours (he has things like: Halo 3)... and during free time? He's probably too busy recreating. I think you might think it a tad bit unreasonable if you had to freqeunt your companies site, even if you were a community lead there, after work hours.

If you don't got it, you want it. If you got it, you want more of it. Of course if you don't know what it is, it's hard to get any in the first place.

Many members are feeling (Whether this to quite to the degree it's expressed) that members of the community team (and others) spend more time on the other fan sites.

It can be argued that these websites are more receptive of these Staffers, and in some cases the format is better suited than the B.net forums. That the "crass" members on this site would ruin any attempted interaction on a large scale, and that instead, certain things involved in the fanbase of Halo should be kept to the "more dedicated" members of HBO.

However, this does not account for many of the dedicated Bungie fans on Bungie.net. Some don't partake in HBO's delights due to being confused by it's forum, or perhaps lacking a full enthusiasm for the inner workings of a Shaw-Fujika Slipspace drive (How is a mystery to me). Fans who will be here for Bungie's next game, and most likely the one after that. A dedication that goes beyond the "casual fanboy". Websites like HBO will most likely remain as key places to discuss the inner workings of such things, as their format is more complementary of discussions of that type, rather than the sometimes chaotic nature of the Bungie forums. But the dedicated fans who are a solid piece of the Bungie community and the 7th Column do warrant some additional attention than they are getting at this moment.

The demands that many members are making on Bungie is rather absurd. It's illogical to assume that you'll get waited on hand and foot by a staffer just so you can ask if the Pistol & BxR will be in Halo 3, and if they'd care to listen to your proposal for dual-wieldable laser combat knives.

But a chance to get small levels of interaction that help fill in the gaps by Weekly What's Updates would really go a long way. A chance to get some small discussions to help us get a small window into the people making the game, going onto occasionally larger discussions on Fanfests, Pax, etc.

They don't have to be epics the likes of Homer, but even just a small sticky, or a tiny sub-news post on rare occasion would really go a long way.

About the 'HBO etc are more well behaved' arguement (Which may be true...)

In threads on here where the moderators and even Achronos are posting, the mood and maturity level of the thread is at a good level (from what I've noticed).
In threads where it's just 3 guys, bored, wanting attention, the thread soon turns to spam and flaming etc.

Just imagine the respect and pride people would have in their created threads, or the threads they are involved in, if the moderators and a few of the Bungie staff were getting involved.
Think about it. When a moderator replies to one of your threads, one of your posts or even acknowledges your existence, you feel a little special, like it's worth coming on Bungie.net. More of it could only help.

(Of course some people are just idiots and want to cause trouble, but that can't be stopped)

Death seriously, I've tried to maintain some sense of civility in regards to this issue, but the point is, you simply don't get it. No one asked you to agree with them, but you failed to even acknowledge what they were saying. You're obviously unhappy with the Bungie staff for not posting as much as you think they should, so leave. I think I can pretty much speak for everyone when I say we're tired of you not understanding anything thats being said while you throw your little tantrum.

We weren't told of the Halo3.com mishap, he chose to go to HBO and tell them. We were the ones that needed to be told since we are the main forums discussing it in The Halo 3 Forum. There was endless spam on that forum about it and there still is because we still have no update about the situation from Frankie himself.

I have seen that already but that thread was locked and buried under spam. Nobody is taking it to heart because many haven't seen it. We need a real update about it.

So now its not that the Bungie staff doesnt post on Bungie.net, its about where you want them to post it?

Maybe we can have Frankie hand deliver a papyrus scroll to you with the answer to every question you have concerning anything Bungie related. I can honestly say I have never met anyone with a more messed up, unrealistic set of expectations. Congratulations!
