Subject: favorite campaign level

I dunno, I kinda thought that the Silent Cartographer was an awesome level. The Beach Assault was the best.

I can tell by the look on your mom, that you think I'm cool...

oops, did I just steal a cookie?

The first one, or the Silent Cartographer.

I'd say... Two Betrayals is one of the best. We got Covies, Flood, and Sentinels all thrown in the pot, and the level gets REALLY fun when you stir 'em up.
But 343 GS on legendary hands down. You see dead Covies and Marines with blood splattered all around em, green bloodstains, piles of toppled boxes, an insane marine, a crashed dropship with a message on repeat, weird detections on you motion detector, and on top of all that, its all quiet... apart from the steady thumping and howling of machinery, its totally silent...

Assault never gets old. Silent Cartographer and clearing the LZ at the beginning.. what a sweet way to start a level. That kicked the can. The Maw was good too, but the countdown timer took it away from me. There's got to be a way to beat that thing, to get it to not start.

I dunno - any of those over-the-top violent close combat sequences, esp if they've got Elites. Like Pillar of Autumn or Keyes. Plus Silent Cartographer for beach assault and sentimental value (yes, I have fond memories of gunning down Grunts in a Warthog).

Honestly, though, how could you not beat the Library? Do you just not use cover? I'm sure that was the easiest of the ten. Well, maybe PoA is, but w/e.

Bits of AotCR or Two Betrayals are awesome, too. BIG battles or fighting Elites w/ Shotguns for the first time.

I love the MAW (best ending in any video game ive ever played), I go crazy on the beach at the silent cartographer and I cant get enough killing the flood with my trusty shotgun in the Library, but the map I cant get enough of, the map that I still go back to and play to this day is Assault On The Control Room, dont ask me why its just a map that I can easily emerse my self into.

I hated the Library. Even on Easy. It is the only level I haven't beaten on Heroic.

Favrotie is Guily Spark. It was a very well done level. the atmosphere of it was great. It was very scary, especially since the first time I played it I was on single player, 7 years old and doing Heroic.

Pillar of Autumn and Halo are close seconds.

I didn't like Assault on the Control Room and the Silent Cartographer cause being alone inside the conrcucts is creepy. At least in the Library you have 343.

Yeah it was fun.
I was 6 playing coop with my friend Ben, also 6, on normal on the year it came out.
Me: OMG what are these things?
Ben: Kill 'em all!
Me: What the hell! they pop!
Ben: stupid popping things!
Me: OMG holy Sheiße, zombie things!
Ben: ZOMG
Me: Aaaaaaaaaaah scary turn it off, turn it off!
* I turn it off *
Ben: Hey turn it on!
Me: But it's too scary!

And so on...

the Library lol i beat it on normal heroic and legenday took quite a few trys with my friend but i think if we had been playing all the game on legenday it would have been easyer so i still think it is one of the best levels just non stop action

-Sic transit gloria mundi

Assault on the Control Room- It has a nice open atmosphere to me (which is contradictory being underground.)
Two Betrayals- same map, different direction, and a whole differnt feeling to it.

  • 09.15.2007 9:35 PM PDT

Assault on the Control Room. Branching off of Mr. Coviekiller, the level has a really great atmosphere, with dozens of encounters. The mission was also a bit of a 'shining moment' for some of the vehicles, such as the banshee and scorpion tank.

Personally, my favorite level would have to be Two Betrayals. Nothing better than playing it on Legendary co-op style.

  • 09.17.2007 5:39 PM PDT

I personally like Truth and Rec, Assault on the Control Room, and The Maw.
Truth and Rec=Sniping
AOTCR=Just fun
The Maw=Warthog fun!
