I don't know why but level 4 (The Silent Cartographer) has always been my go-to level. As far as my favorite, I'd have to say AotCR. The most epic, intense battles happen on that level.

As far as the most memorable level, I'd have to say Truth and Reconciliation =] I remember the first time I played it. Sniping my way through the night, and the music in the drop-ship bay, as I moved to and fro, cappin' many-a Jackals on the platforms above. So memorable. It felt much longer too.

Dear god, I think I turned black for a second. Meow.

I love it all...

343 Guilty spark, can get annoying at times, but it's a good annoying if that makes any sense.

The maw was the level I loved most on co-op as me and my sister raced each other to the longsword, she won :(

I really like Halo and AotCR in singleplayer

A hero need not speak. When he is gone the world will speak for him.

I'm here to kick ass and chew bubble gum, and im all out of bubble gum!

man Truth and reconcilation.... had the most varied gameplay i think but the two betrayals is right behind.... but i just loved TaR it was so tight sniping all the enemies and then go kik ass on the remaining guys

My Fav levels are Assualt on the control room and Two betryals

AotCR cause its the only level with a Scorpion (gota love it), attacking wraiths and all the weapons -shotgun
TB cause its almost the same as AotCR and you are actually give a banshee to fly (not haveing to steel one or get a secret one)

one thing i noticed that 3 levels are almost copies of three others:
Pillar of Autum - The Maw
Truth and reconsiliation - Keyes
Assault on the control room - Two betryals

Apart form keyes that had a liitle more going on outside the ship the other two are almost the same. I kinda felt a little ripped but i guess it fitted with the story

my favourite level is Timberland
and second is Infinity
i like those maps because they're big, and good sniping spots.

AoTCR because the Scorpion was in it. I would play that level a lot just to mess around with it.

Truth and Reconciliation [sp?]. the sniping bit was sweetness,
and i'll never forget.....heroic. our first time to warp up the grav lift. we get up there.
"no'ones here!" ok. im expecting like a cut-scene to drop in. then...
i hear the screams. the bloody screams of what was left of my marines from being cut down by invisible assassins.
one of the few times a shooter has ever had me scared.
lol.

Lets see... i would say it's a tie between The Pillar of Autumn, Halo, Truth and Reconciliation, Silent cartographer, AotcR, 343 Guilty spark, the library, two betrayals, keyes, and the maw.

but as a tiebreaker, I would say two betrayals win because of Final Run. Most Intense thing ever. I practically crapped my pants when I was sniping and got meleed by an invisible elite out of nowhere.

If I had a Rocket Launcher...

Shut up and get behind me... Sir!

The cable. I'm going to cut it.

Awesomeness would ensue.

mine has to be the 4 level because of the first bit withe the beach because its a bit like d-day. the thing i like to do on it is to go on normal or higher and let the marines do the work. sometimes the grunts lob grenades which kill the marines but i just like seeing the outcome!!!!!!!!!

Welp, if I have to choose, I am gonna go with Two Betrayals. You pretty much get the whole shebang there. Covies, Flood, battles against multiple vehicle types, inside, outside, tight quarters, expansive areas. The battle for the last Banshee that you need is a blast, there are so many ways to approach it, it never gets old. Sometimes I will die on purpose before a checkpoint just to re-fight it a different way. All in all, I just feel that level has the widest variety and encompasses the best of the gameplay styles. That is one of my favorite levels to use without ever driving a vehicle (although ignoring the Scorpion on AotCR is alot of fun as well, that following section of terrain, not using a tank or ghost, whew, yikes, not easy on Legendary! But the battles after, without the tank are a blast on foot!). Y'all be good now, or don't get caught, one of the two!

1.)The Maw
2.)Two Betrayals

I have to second Truth and rec.

I mean, you lead a team of 10 on a mission to save yer captain, who is in a ship filled with thousands (count em) of aliens, who'd, given the chance, would "rip out your beating heart, and feed it to the buzzards!" (someone said it some time in history, i'm sure). the premise itself is awesome!

Sniping bits? WITH COVER IN THE NIGHT PLAYING? VERY YES! and don't get me started on the battles before and after you get on the grav lift, those were awesome too. (the corridor battles were a nice change of pase, but they weren't that great.) then, the CONTROL ROOM BATTLE, great music, great challenge, oh, and did I mention great music?

then you find keyes... amazing. opens up with a few invisi-elites all mafia style.. then it's getting kinda old, but the ending... VERY nice

but yeah, this is the best level.

mine would hav to be Two Betrayals because its the only challege on Legendary

  • 10.16.2007 6:59 PM PDT

Hard to choose because they're all really good levels. I would say AotCR followed closely by The Maw and Two Betrayals. Right after those would be the second through the fourth levels.

Loved em all

  • 10.17.2007 5:59 PM PDT

Halo: CE > > Halo 3 > Halo: Reach = Halo 2

I loved them all, but 'The Truth and Reconciliation' (the outdoor night stage) was the most memorable for me. The music, 'Under the Cover of Night', really set the mood. Excellent.

I haven't finished Halo 3 yet, but i'd be happy if just one of the levels matched the quality of any of Halo:CE's.
