With Halo 3 still 8 months away for me, I have been playing this a lot. But campaign got boring, and I don't anyone to MP with. so I took on a different perspective. A rampant Spartan. I kill the Marines now. It's actually very fun if you try it. Normally, so long as you aren't in the middle of the squad, you can pick off 10 Marines easily on Normal. Heroic, they get stronger when they are fighting you and provide a challenge. Especially in the Si;ent Cartographer. After the beach battle, you should have most if not al Marines left. Kill two of the normal soldiers before the 'hog gets there, then prepare to fight for your life. Kill them one by one, as if it were real. Save the Sergeant for one of the last 3. When there are only 3 left, kill the Sergeant. Let the other two fire for a while, then kill one. Using your pistol, beat the last one to death. It is a story, see, focusing around the last Marine. It would make a good novelization, a rampant Spartan-II.
In 343 Guily Spark, killing them isn't worth it. There's enough there for them to easily overwhelm you. Just don't help them against the Flood, and they'll die quickly enough. In AotCR, you can get through the level without the aid of Zulu. But prepared for the second group of Marines. They will prove a challenge, as you'll be weary from the past Covenant battles. In Halo, killing Marines is the best way to play the level. With the exception f the first group and last, you can move on immediately after all the Marines are dead. So kill the Marines, kill the Covenant, fight to the Marines in the rocks, kill them and prepare for the other Marines to be against you. Fight to the Marines trapped underground and kill them. Then go to the hills and kill the Marines and Covenant.
this might seem cruel, but it can be a good time killer.
