Honestly, its a bad idea because you're sixteen,, and don't have a debit/credit card. If you do, and have a job, you should see absolutely no problem with my idea..

As are most of the people on this website.

Which, dare I say it? IS Primarily whats wrong with this site. TOO MANY IMMATURE KIDS. Now, don't get me wrong, there are extremely intelligent and mature pre-teens on bungie.net Even TGP was like, 15 when he became a ninja. And i have no issues with those few few individuals. But statistically, the younger, the dumber... I look at some of my first posts, and im ashamed... I was just a young pubescent kid.

Bungie doesn't disallow video's. Just go to Youtube or something. Thats where al the montages are anyways. And alll you ever want by posting a montage is attention. Theres hardly any other reason to.

* For healthy discussion.
* Finding people to play with in custom games that are good.

It's not for attention. Look at the threads in the Flood forum. 80% of them are just for attention and Bungie doesn't disallow them.

Try going into the flood when EvilCam is online

How is posting videos of people playing Halo 2 and movies of Halo 2 not allowed in The Halo 2 Forum but posting threads in the Flood about how you're thinking of turning emo or how much you "heart" your Bungie girlfriend okay? All of those are eventually locked (see above comment)

But Archilles look how dead New Mombasa is now. It's just a ghost town where only radioactive abominations post repetitive threads on how they can't get the maps and how BXR is cheating and unholy.

Want a challenge? Try coming up with a NEW and INTERESTING] topic about Halo 2 that hasnt been posted about 20 times already.

I don't see how posting game footage thats been editted to only include your most awesome kills is the answer. Face it, I'll be the first to admit I suck and even I could edit game footage to make myself look like and MLG god. Even if you came up with an original montage, most of us are sick of listening to "Let the Bodies Hit the Floor" anyway.

Lol, let the bodies hit the floor, you have a good point there. If bungie did charge people the five dollars maybe some of those rules could go away because people wouldn't want to get banned for life and have to pay another five dollars.

*Shudder* The thought of Bungie being idiot-free, few rules, images allowed, HTML allowed... No fear of ever getting flamed by someone who hates you on an alt.. That's as close to heaven as i would ever be.

If it cost $5 to get an account on bungie, just a one time fee, but, PER account... Man that would shape things up here... Parents would think twice about giving their kids repeated amounts of $5 after a while, and hopefully start realizing that they shouldn't let em on the internet anyways.

Would you have held on to this opinion if your last 7 day wouldve been a permaban?

If you had to PAY for membership, banning would probably occur less, FAR less. And my reasoning for being blacklisted would of easily been appealed (IMO) No need to go into this. Its not something i feel the need to discuss publically.
But, to answer, Absolutely.

This was my idea before, and still is after getting a week vacation. But again. not going there :)

So stop -blam!-ing because you cant follow a few simple rules, or cant post your awesome 1337 BOOM headshot montage. If you dont like it, leave.

Hope that wasn't directed towards me. Either way you just showed me and the rest of the thread what i'm talking about in the sentenced I highlighted above. Why do you have to be like that, to anyone?

It was directed at anyone who feels that the community needs saving. You ask about the recent lack of originality, yet you re-post a topic that is in the top five list of "Threads you can expect to see on a weekly basis".

This is my first time in this specific forum, so I apologize if this has been posted before.

If I dont like a book I'm reading, I dont read it. If Im watching TV and I dont like the show, I change the channel. If there is nothing here that interests you any longer, why are you still here? Bungie.net isnt the only community site out there. Perhaps a search for a more specific part of the community that is more in line with your interests may be in order.

I've been coming here for three years, and I continue to come here because bungie.net forums are the only i've ever even bothered coming to. So because I don't like this rapid decline in the community, one i've been apart of for six years, means i should leave and go find a new forum? No I don't think so, I think all the people who ruin this community and ruin these forums should leave because they are the ones who have polluted it in the first place.

With the new warning system in place I feel that flaming on montages can be greatly reduced.

I think the warning system only works for active, and decent members. Who care about their name. Warning a spammer on an alt is absolutely pointless unfortunately. And thats almost always the type of user one is when they flame for such dumb reasons.

You people have just sent my sides into orbit. A bunch of MLG try hards sucking the dick of some supposed pro half the thread hasn't even heard of. Classic.

Yes but posting YTMND's of Homer Simpson peeing on R Kelly is okay in The Flood forum?

Did anybody report the thread to a moderator? If not then who is to say they even knew it was there? That would be like me witnessing a crime not reporting it, and getting mad at the police for not coming out to investigate because they were not around to see it. Doesn't make much sense does it?

If people would just report the stuff then we can clean it up if we do not see it. I cannot speak for every mod here, but I do not click on every single thread of the forums. I just do not have that kind of time.

I work for the Department of Defense.

Lets take a game of halo for instance.

1v1 no kill limit, no re spawn limit, 5 min time limit. What does that equal? CARNAGE. Completely idiotic rushing, Rambo, and stupid risky moves and tactics.

Now...

1v1 3 live limit, no time limit. what does THAT equal? That sir, is good halo right Thur.

Translation, It should be obvious.

Yeah because only spammers with alternate accounts post in threads about montages... yeah.

No no, I am speaking about spammers/flamers in general. They almost always get their alt to do their dirty work. For fear of being black listed on their main act. What happens when that fear is un-evadable? Well that sir, is goodforums.

If you don't got it, you want it. If you got it, you want more of it. Of course if you don't know what it is, it's hard to get any in the first place.

You're right, But I'm just saying there are hundreds of posts and threads like that and I try to report it when I can. Usually nothing's done about it and due to elitism most don't report them.

Elitism? Hardly. Perhaps they don't think it's worth reporting, or perhaps it's just "a joke" among the usual crowd (Just look at Imp's Duckroll post a while back), but hardly Elitism.

Honestly, the Bungie community is what you make of it. If it's no longer suiting your needs, then your probably better left going to H2F, HiH, HBO, RvB, MLG, or the plethora of other tiny Halo community sites.

It has everything to do with it.

Having limited lives makes you think before you act.

Having limited accounts (because they cost money) would REALLY make you think before being a jerk on these forums.

Its got nothing to do with rules.

B.Net rules are actually very unobtrusive. Using common sense and netiquette and you should never come anywhere near breaking any rules. So, for the general populace, the best way to improve the community, is to go back to whichever forums you frequent, and simply be a decent member. Don't post useless crap, and just stay polite. Also, using grammar and spelling is a plus.

Paying for B.Net? Go -blam!- yourself.

But doesn't that exclude the very people this site is for? Bungie fans?

I work for the Department of Defense.

I said nothing about age. Age means nothing. Maturity is everything.

And you can be mature at any age. But most, are not.

All of the younger players managed to get the new maps eventually, and some without any parental support.

It could be easily done again. But wouldn't be repeated that often, just to spam a forum for a bit.

haha, nope, it really wasn't. Some people cant add to a discussion appropriately if someone wont agree with them. I don't mind what he said at all. He just prove my idea that paying for membership would increase the value exponentially.

I think so. It effectively got across his opinion that he feels very strongly about not paying for Bungie.net memberships.

Darkm0d, I have a better idea. Instead of charging people to join the site, Bungie could use credit cards for age verification. They wouldn't be charged anything, they would just need to put in their information. If the account were to be banned, the credit card would be banned, so all other accounts associated with that credit card would also be banned, and no new accounts could be created using that credit card.

You wouldn't talk like that to someone you don't know in person, (and if you would you have issues) so why do it on the forums? There are other ways to effectively get his opinion across.

No objections here. An alternative idea that still should/would work.

You need to be a certain age to have a credit card and I'm sure my mom would want to pay 5 dollars for me to post on a video game forum.
But not to buy those gift cards that work the same way.
Yeah, how old are you?
Eighteen.
You only have to be 14 to play Xbox Live.
Think your missing my point about the new maps/visa gift card fiasco
Just silence.
Silence because you had no idea what i was talking about? or that you missed the point?
