Look everyone who actually doesnt believe this but actually is a proven fact. The Average gamer is between 30 years old.

How about Average Xbox Live Gamer's age?

I don't think there has been a reliable study conducted to determine the average age of gamers in specific categories and/or games.

Yeah I saw it.

I don't believe it though. I know from experience that older people do not play this game. Otherwise we'd have 30 year olds at tournaments, and in houses on Saturday nights playing games.

I've only met 4 people above the age of thirty who still game. I call shenanigans on that statistic.

Anyway, I think that immaturity is immaturity. But it's causing this forum to miss out on some cool stuff.

Best post i've seen in awhile, I completely agree and was about to write that. I'm only 21, but i'm married and we're expecting, not to mention the military requires my duties for 10 hours a day, its not so easy to play a game all the time and practice for tournaments, and most 30+ year olds have careers and jobs to worry about over a game. And like it was posted, it is just a game.

This 34 year old gamer begs to differ. You dont see 30 year olds at tournaments because we had to decide on a career before the advent of 'pro' gaming. That means we have to work to support ourselves which means we dont have 10 hours a day to practice.

My personnel view is that most 30 year olds have come to the realization that its just a -blam!- game.

Now days we have to read about the same topic over and over and over, (MAPS FAILED, RANK RESET? OMG WE HAVE TO PAY?)

I haven't been here very long at all compared to you but (With respect) I have to say that threads like this are the ones that I see just as much as all the other stuff you mentioned. I'm not contending or supporting anything you're saying; I'm just pointing out the fact that threads of this nature are quite numerous as well...

I normally roam the halo 2 and halo 3 forums, today is my first visit to this particular forum so I've never seen a thread like this before, I apologize if I've repeated what has been said thousands of times before.

I work here: Sound Devices, LLC. We make bad-ass field audio gear, and you think that's awesome. My messy desk (With work-related items on the computer screen).

One does not simply grenade jump into Mordor...

It's not repeated as much as the other things (In my limited experience), and I definitely can understand where you're coming from. I think the only way to make this forum be the way you want it to be is to continue to talk about things you like. If it gets interrupted with OT/immature stuff then there really isn't anything that can be done. The kids can play games with the moderators indefinitely, so if it get's to be too much, I think the only "solution" is to admit that it just isn't a place you like to hang out anymore. I'd like to see people that are interested in real discussion stay here, so I hope it doesn't get to be too much...

I don't think there has been a reliable study conducted to determine the average age of gamers in specific categories and/or games.

Any data collected would be skewed.

Especially since so many <18 year old gamers will fill out forms so they are shown as >18 in order to avoid parental controls.

Wouldnt that effect ANY statistics of gamers, when there are restrictions found almost everywhere? "Rated M for mature"
