Can anyone explain me that oddity about eligibility;

2. Eligibility: You are eligible to enter this Contest if you are:

· a legal resident of the 50 United States, District of Columbia or Canada (but not a resident of Quebec);

· at least thirteen (13) years old at the time of entry; and

· not employed by us, or any of our or their respective parent companies, affiliates, subsidiaries, participating vendors or advertising or promotion agencies, or anyone working directly on this program, product and promotion.

If you are a minor, you should ask your parent’s or legal guardian’s permission prior to submitting an entry in this Contest. This Contest is void outside the geographic area identified above and wherever else prohibited by law.

So why is it Residents of Québec cannot enter the contest? Or most european countries as it matters...

o RLY????

I Have noticed this and I live in the UK and this narrows do countless people making this unfair. If Bungie didn't let non-US enter then they might as well make Halo 3 work on US Xboxs only and only let US residents on this website and destroy the rest of the world. Ignore the last bit.

Yeah... Although there are ways I could understand that europe would be left away for some contest, we're talking about a 100% web based game and therfore, everyone should be allowed.

Anyone but Foman. He smells like cheese.

Legal reasons. Quebec has a different legal system than the rest of Canada and it would be too different to work around the various laws to make the contest available worldwide.

here's my reply to those "legual" matters I am aware of:

I made a thread too in the underground... it's pretty lame. Yes the set of law here is different, but my knowledge of what we call the Consumer Protection Office( OPC in French) Basically rules out unfair contests and things that wuold actually be meant to jip us. For an example, the Jip that's been going on Ebay about people paying with stolen credit cards, well, the OPC Took stand and denied eBay the right to take back cash as the "disclaimer" you have to accept to join is too long and too complicated to ever be read.

Now if M$ Denies us acces in the contest, reasons can be many. From my knowledge However, unless M$ intended to steal from us something not correctly written in the rules( wich are deemed to be short enought to be read), then there's no reason to block the acces apart from lazyness to check the law themselves. Many contests are valid here and elsewhere but it's mostly only M$ that does it. The contests such as "Win a 360 every Hour" Did happen here, but it's because it was someone else that was in charge.
