Subject: What is this blasphemy? (H3 Emblems)

You say tomato; I say potato.

It's not like Bungie announced that Halo 3 will only come out in North America. It's just a silly contest. Bungie didn't have to do it.

"Bungie didn't have to do it!".

That just makes me laugh.

Why should I be gratefull (sp?) that they did somthing that I have no way of legally participating in?

I wouldn't complain were it not for the fact that this is the 2nd thing in recent times that Bungie has screwed over non-USA and non-Canada (excluding Quebec :p).

It's the underhandedness[/made up word] that makes me annoyed. Why can they not just say at the top of the page who the offer reffers to instead of getting people's hopes up before throwing in a snide comment at the end of the article informing us that once again, you're not invited.
1) Bungie doesn't make laws.
2) I didn't suggest you be grateful. I suggested that you just accept it.

Instead of everyone worrying about not being able to enter the contest, you should be worrying that your not American.
Now was it really necessary to say that? Come on.

Keep elitisim out of this please.

I'd rather worry about the issue at hand, not the fact that I wasn't born in a certain place.

I believe it was a joke, Herr Donovan.

As stated before, it are legal reasons, a lot of countries have there own laws regarding contests. Of course, I personally don't see what could be wrong with making and emailing a little emblem, but than again, I'm no lawyer.

You know, I hear that a lot about these contests and to an extent I'm prepared to grudgingly accept c'est vrai... but just once I'd like to actually be told what those legal concerns are, rather than just being left hanging with vagaries.

I agree. Bungie should at least explain this rule.

I work for the Department of Defense.

Bungie and Microsoft are just covering their ass's. Not that any of you will believe that its just my view.

What I want to know is just how hard is it to send your entree to a US buddy of yours.

Yaeh, it might be a hassle, but is it that hard?

Love you Bungie!
Still playing Halo1 Custom Edition!

They also left Quebec out the contest... Second biggest canadian province, and as far as I can tell, we're no -blam!- and our laws, while they're diffeent, don't restrict such contests. They however restrict things like forcing people to downloas maps to keep playing Halo2.

There is no free speech here. There is no due process.
Welcome to Bungie. You have no rights. Play nice.™

Why can't the people on the other countries make up a free email-like yahoo- and put that you are from america and make up some street name or somethig, and that might be a loophole in the whole situation. and if someone checks the IP or however they found out you are not from america, just say that you were on vacation.

I'm sure that lots of people who did not read the rules and terms of the contest will try that. If you DO read the rules, however, you will see that Bungie will require proof of address and identity from the contest winner. If they can't provide it, they're out.

WRYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY

I completly agree with Foman. Although I'm excluded in the contest, I don't blame Bungie, I blame copyright issues and other laws that posses contries.
