i would just like to point out that games like this are rated for explicit reasons. take any 'M' rated game. i believe that these ratings are there for some purpose. an 'M' rating means mature. this means only people mature enough to handle anything within the game. and from the looks of the poll results, most of the people playing halo are not mature enough in age to play this game.
as a parent, in my eyes, you should know your kid well enough to know how mature they are. in my case things like cursing, gore, blood, violence etc things like this never seemed to affect me, to ever make me want to repeat anything that i saw/heard. i don't curse, i'm not a gory person either. so in my opinion, as i look back at the latter part of my youth(13-17), i think i was fairly mature for my age, and still think i am. some people aren't, actually a lot of people aren't.
so when parents are out buying games that their children can't, i think the thing they should think about their child and if they're able to handle a game with the content of a mature game.
for those wondering, i'm almost 22
