It doesnt realy matter how old you are, as long as your cool, and co-operative...

I'm 12, and i'm more mature than 50% of 15+ people on that game... And a few 20+'s are real bit%#!s

G-tag is Bluering2021 if you want to be friends... I want more friends!

why does it really matter what age you are its a game and that restriction is a guideline not a bloody holy grail evryone has to bow down to - you are probly guesing im below 17 because im defending ppl aged below it well your right but guess what, im also australian and the highest rating for any game over here is 15+ and im 16 so if ya wanna say something go write ahead

Leave no man behind. But be prepared to stand alone.

A Halo2 profile, Dallas 33, & MyBloodyBullets---you guys are in my bracket. I'm 48. A coworker half my age convinced me just over two years ago that I'd like RE4, loaned me his Gamecube and his game, and I've been playing ever since. I picked up an Xbox, bought Halo:CE & Halo 2, and have a number of other games in my collection. I now have a 360, of course. I'm a shooter fan bigtime. Halo is just the ultimate in my opinion, and excels in every respect....If I were the owner or the manager of a game store, I'd not allow the sale of any M rated game to those under 17. But what a parent allows their children to do with their supervision or consent is something I can't be responsible for. I would simply and strongly urge parents to be aware of what their kids can and cannot handle, and to note how their kids behave in connection with the whole interactive experience. A great way for parents to know is to play the games with them. A guy I play with alot is 52 and his son is 16. It's good to hear him carrying on parental duties online just as he would otherwise. Parents should remember that game consoles are not babysitters. I have a niece who is 10 and plays video games, mostly racing titles. I was playing Halo:CE one day, campaign mode. I have a 770 watt amp and a 500 watt sub through which I play, and didn't hear my niece come into the room. She had earlier been playing Need for Speed on my rig. Anyway, I was lettin' it rip with Johnson and the Marines against Elites and Grunts, so I was focused onscreen. I happened to glance over my shoulder and there sat my niece, her eyes as big as saucers. I asked her if she was okay. She says, "Yeah. What's that?!" She was referring to an Elite moving in. And she was tickled pink at the Grunts. She even served as my spotter---"Watch it, one's coming down from the left!" I played for another ten minutes or so when a Grunt tagged me with a sticky. At that, I shut the game off, telling my niece that was all for now. She handled seeing the combat well, but I would never allow her to play the game alone. Halo has far less gore than most games I've seen with an M rating, the language is minimal, and there's no strong suggestive material as in other games of that rating. But the intensity of some of the battles (the Flood fights, for example) is pretty high....I've got a saying for us older gamers; "Game till you're lame, then adapt and overcome." Have I got a life. You bet! I work a nine to five and read countless pages of heavy duty material on subjects of interest to me as I've done for years. I can easily squeeze gaming into my schedule.

That is like saying to a 12 year old kid that you wont let him go to a pg 13 movie because it says 13 or older. When we all know you would let you kid go and see that movie.

I've got three daughters (15,20,22), I'm 41 years old, and I've NEVER allowed my girls to see a movie that was rated above their age. Nor do/did I allow them to play games rated above their age. Maybe it's just me, but I don' think companies/governments have strict enough standards. My girls get TONS of freedoms, but they have certain guidelines to follow. It's a shame parents don't feel more responsibility in raising their kids. It's always the teacher's fault, or the governments, or the "Man's", etc...
Whats the point, i've had halo since i was 11

i am not a father, but it seems as if you are suggesting that you and the movie/game ratings are the correct way to raise children. now i know those are suggested age appropriate content, but alot of parents who let their kids play these games explain what is right and wrong, real and make believe. the part where you said, and i quote " its a shame parents don't feel more responsibility in raising their kids " is not okay to say. you cant critisize the way someone chooses to raise their child. it is their right to do so. of all the things that can negitively effect a childs development, violent video games and movies are not as high up on the list as things such as domestic violence, $3XUAL abuse, or substance abuse that may be going on in their household. all of those things as well as your child's friends and peers are a much bigger problem and impact on how todays kids act / behave.

ESRB rating is only the suggested rating for people. In fact, it's a totally optional feature for a game to have an ESRB.

39 and love this game, would be fun to make deathmatches per ages. An I must admit that Halo 2 live is by far the best game ever done for the multiplayer era. And I still can't believe I once played with a kid that was 7 or 8, was pretty good though.

This is a RETICULE, and that is a RETICLE. I'm using the latter to aim. And what are you using?

I'm a happy 31 years old. Haven't been a gamer until about seven or eight years ago, although I used to play a lot on my old Commodore 64 as kid. But then came puberty and the interest in girls, alcohol, and heavy metal. I'm cured of my "interest" in alcohol now and replaced it with gaming, sort of. ^ ^

Funny, seeing as the average age of a gamer is nearly 30 now.

I think that maybe the KIDS spending the best years of their life in a darkened room getting insanely good at a video game are the ones who need lives - not guys like me who have jobs, houses, partners, kids and enjoy unwinding with a video game when we get some free time. How old do you think the people who make your beloved games are? Around and over 30, for the most part. We were playing before we were your age, and we aren't going to stop now - just like you aren't going to stop.

Ignorant child. Perhaps if you didn't waste your formative years so much you'd have a clue about life.

A big part to success in Halo 3 or and Halo game is not getting frustrated when you feel you've been killed unjustly. Stay solid, and realize that its easier for you to come back when the other guys cant control their anger and frustration. Its hard to aim when your an emotional wreck :)

Im turning 15 in a month. I write my sentences with correct grammar and punctuation too, it just bothers me so much when I see people spelling with just letters and numbers to get an entire sentence out, or especially when the title of a thread is completely butchered.

I started playing video games when I was around 5, and my dad was playing a Sega Genesis in our old apartment. Ever since then I havent stopped. I remember when I was 8, and my dads friend brought Halo 1 over to our house and my dad wasn't sure if I could see it. After a while, he saw that Halo only had a very mild language problem, and a little bit of alien blood, he let me play it. I started to get good at Halo 1 around 9 years old, and I havent stopped playing it, and here I am now at 15. Ive basically grown up playing it, which I find to be pretty cool.

And to anyone talking trash about gamers over 30....please dont speak anymore. First off, the guys who are making these games are adults so any punk my age shouldnt say anything about it. Secondly, the guys who are good at these games are usually around the 25+ age.

So what is the general age that types in letters I wonder?

25
I don't think that age should matter as much as it does, but we have no choice when our "teammates" can't be "teammates".
If you can grasp the concept of teamwork, and function on a team, then play.
If you are some little punk that wants to run his/her mouth throughout the game about soemone stealing their rockets or something in an obscenly highpitched squeek, then stop playing.

Also, if someone's grandma owns me, I welcome it.

Hey you know it's not about being too young or old, it's just about how mature you are to play on Xbox Live. I'm 19 and let me tell you there are quite a number of younger kids who are not loud mouths and annoying buggers. Yet again there are quite a few of the noisy annoying ones too. lol!

ya totally i agree with this guy i mean im 11 i hear bad stuff but i NEVER say anything i only say like suck and sometimes -blam!- if im mad :)

  • 06.01.2007 3:14 PM PDT

30 years old here and I play with my father-in-law who's 50 something and others around my age. We hook up the system link and play for hours.

The family that games together, stays together I guess....or no wait. LOL
