They who can give up essential liberty to obtain a little temporary safety, deserve neither liberty nor safety.

You are never to old to stop enjoying yourself, be it Video Games, sports, or whatever.

All great trilogies end in fives.

Alright, I'm 12. And I'm proud.

I've met many people twice my age, and they always make fun of me, just because I feel Halo isn't as gory and violent as other FPS games. I just play, to have fun, do cool things with my friends, and kill.

*Sigh* Yet another pointless thread that belongs in the flood...Anyway, I think it's unfair that since i'm 15 I get thrown into the 11 year olds category..

  • 06.07.2007 7:27 PM PDT

well i'm also 15 and i don't get thrown into the 11 year olds category... it could be the fact that you have an extremely girly voice.....

98% of the people who play this game are garbage. If you're one of the 2% who isn't, copy & paste this into your signature.

Recently i've been thinking about quitting Halo 2 and Xbox Live. After reading all this I was able to look at it all from different perspectives and, I feel a bit inspired now, to keep playing. I've decided i'm not gona quit Halo though. I've thought about n said i was gona quit before. Its just, I quit or say i'm gona quit cuz i'm goin through alotta stress or sumthin else was goin on at the time in my life.. ... but eventually I keep comin back for more.

I'm a gamer, i can't help it, but i'm proud of it. I've been playing since i was like 3 or 4. I wasn't around for the Atari and I started out with Super Mario Bros. for the original NES. I'm almost 20 now. I mean i've just always enjoyed video games, thats all there is to it. I've just been caught up in watching the French Open lately and working 50 hours a week, thats all.

Basically I just wana say that, no matter how old you are or get, you can still enjoy your favorite video games if you want. I mean sure, there are some exceptions where as you get older you take on more responsibilities and burdens and you're simply not able to, but, y'all should get what i'm sayin

I'm 20.
ESRB ratings are not law, they are guidelines. The fact of the matter is that as long as it's put in the proper context there is little limit to what age a child must be before s/he can understand the material. I was shown things by my parents at a young age that I'm sure many out there would be horrified at, and in retrospect perhaps I was too young, but the fact that my parents monitored my activity and stimuli and knew what to explain and when to explain it means that I turned out alright.
There seems to be a trend nowadays with kids such that sometimes pregame lobbies become a contest to see who's mouth can spew forth the most feces in the shortest possible time. Maybe they think they're cool or something, well just so you kids know, YOU"RE NOT. Every intelligent person in the room muted your foolish rear about two sentences in and you end up talking to yourself, or worse people even dumber than yourself. Chumps who try some kind of coup de foul language in every room they get in need to grow up; act that way in the real world and you'll be in for a nasty surprise.
Finally, corporal punishment, while by no means neccesary, it's a terribly (yes it's a pun) effective way of getting a problem child's attention. In my entire youth my dad only had to resort to that once or twice, the rest of the discipline I needed (and yes I know now that I needed it) came verbally, which is a far more effective parenting style. I have to agree with some of the more seasoned members of the forums in saying that most children nowadays lack the discipline structure neccesary to avoid becoming a donkey, and as such I hate to say it, but the vast majority of kids I've encountered playing Halo 2 need a slap across the face to shut their insult and profanity spewing holes!
