Has anyone ordered the Blastacular map pack on their premium Xbox 360 console and then migrated it through the transfer cable to their elite? I was just wondering if i would have to wait until i swapped out for my elite to get the maps to save from having to pay twice... please anyone who has tried let me know, and for any ninjas out there, if you could forward this to anyone who might know please let me know.. thanks...

Haze 2EZ

If you bought the Elite i think you can afford four more dollars. I don't think you can do what your trying to do.

Yep, they are non-transferable between xboxes.

if you download maps now on to your 360, you will not be charged anything when you get your
"ELITE" (waste of money).since you already paid for them ,all you have to do is reload them.

Well thats not what the weekly update says-

Remember also that these downloads are tied to the Box, not the Gamertag, which means you should think carefully about which box you’re downloading to if you have a 360 and an old school Xbox. Again, we understand that’s going to be a pain for some tournament and LAN players, but we’re stuck with bridging the divide between olde Xbox Live and the new. This was as simple as we could make it while still making it available to original Xbox users.

They are tied to the particular xbox NOT the gamertag.

BUT.. .using the Elite transfer cable effectively copies ALL data from the 20 gig HDD and moves it to the 120 gig HDD, in process wiping the 20 gig HDD clear of anything... so in theory it should work, but io would like imput from one of the bungie/MS bigwigs , or someone who has done it... let me know...thanks...

yes it copies the maps, however all original DL's are console specific, so therefore you must re download them, this has been stated in many FAQ's and its right on the screen when you buy the map pack, so pay 4$ to get em on your elite, thats what i did

Congratulations! You found where the signatures are hidden!!

The 360 download content GENERALLY has two ways of locking the content to a user. 1. by specific x-box. 2. by specific gamer tag. If ONE of these criteria are met (you are on the box you bought the download from OR you are playing with the gamer tag that purchased the content) you'll be able to do so. If neither criteria are met, the content will simply not work (it's a copy protection thing).

HOWEVER, in the case of the H2 maps, ONLY using the specific x-box that you bought them from to begin with will allow you to use them. So, even though the transfer will probably move the maps to the new box, the copy protection control schemes will see that it's a different box and not let you play. Now, ordinarily this wouldn't be a problem, because if you log in with your gamer tag that purchased the maps, you'd be able to play them. I'm guessing that because these maps were created so that either the old x-box, or the new 360 would be able to download them, that they are using an older copy protection scheme that only allowed for the actual box that was originally used to download the content. I think this is why they originally were only going to offer them through the 360 marketplace. By opening up the content to both boxes, some limitations were unavoidable.

if anybody has ordered it on their premium, then migrated it to an elite please let me know.. i want the maps now, but am not willing to pay twice for it...let me know.. thanks. if it copies the complete HDD from 20 to the 120, and the same gt is used, it is rediculous that it would not recognize it... someone please test it and let me know.. thank you...

i have done this, i bought the maps when they cam out on my premium, then i got the elite when it came out, when i x-ferred the data all of the maps were void, so i had to re-DL and repay for the blastactualr pack, because orig xbx games base content on the specific xbx not the gt&xbx

the part the says PURCHASE :: DON'T PURCHASE says that it is xbx specific, so maybe you should read more good like
