Hey, I've seen many leaks of the beta. I plan on using my capture card and recording some videos of the beta, when it is released may 16th that is, and I heard people say that this will be agiasnt the rules. I thought that sounded kind of silly, but does anybody know if it is ture?

(I tried to post this in the Halo 3 forum, but it's not working)

Thanks

I work for the Department of Defense.

Thats a good question.

My opinion at first was "no" But I see no reason why... I do believe it will not be allowed on BUNGIE Due to a "No spoiler" ruling. But like, youtube and Google video should be fine. But i have no honest knowledge about this. I'm sure details will be in an update.

Ahh, thanks for your reply. I didn't know about that no spoiler thing. I'm asking because I want to upload some videos to youtube and put them on my site so people with out the beta can see how halo 3 looks. Anyone else have any opinions/ideas?

Its 5-6-7 and 8 AM for most of bungie. and 80% of the 6000 members have school. You wont get too many replies for a while man..

Basically, regardless of any rules Bungie sets in place, SOMEONE will break em. Actually, Frankie mentioned something about how we WILL have access to the halo 3 camera/record feature (a dumbed down version though). But i believe that since we WILL have the ability to record, its likely we can submit user created vids.

I remember seeing Bungie say somewhere that it'd be hard to keep everyone from releasing stuff in the open beta, so it shouldn't be illegal.

Plus, it is an OPEN beta, so I'm 90% sure it would be ok to film.

Yeah, I know bungie isn't around, so I was hopping I could get some user feedback. (It's saturday btw :D ) I can't wait to test out that video recorder thing. I had no idea it would be partially aviable in the beta. Thanks.

Plus, If videos go up on youtube/google (for the people who cant play it) then more people can see what the game looks like and if they see something they think Bungie should change then they can post it. This might have just sounded smarter before I said it.

You are allowed to post media from the Beta.

Lol NicNac, I know what you mean. I doubt bungie has a restriction. It would probably be to their benefit if people got to see the beta in action.

Open Beta

Since it's open it will be public knowledge and since there is no NDA videos should be just fine. Besides, it's free advertising when actual quality videos go up.

Of course not, just don't sell the footage.

Leaking content is illegal. The leaks that have been released in the past few weeks, were recorded pieces from the internal beta, by people who had to sign an NDA. The beta, to be relased on May 16th however, is open to the public. Nor did the participants had to sign any form of contract. So I'm pretty sure it's cool to post videos online. That, and the fact that a bazillion videos will make it to the web anyway, I don't think much action can be taken against it anyway.

I don't think it would be legal to post it because its kind of leaking the beta.

I think that is what I was trying to say.

I'm not that active, but never dead.

Trust me, one the 16th, (Or even the 11th), there will be a TON of people posting videos of the (Delta)Beta. Youtube will be swamped. I doubt anyone will have trouble finding video of Halo 3 in action.
