I'm thinking of upgrading my computer for computer gaming, but I want to know if this would be the kind of stuff I need and if it's any good. If not could you please point me in the right direction. Also, I need help for finding RAM based on the MBoard that I am going to be installing. I want good quality RAM, not -blam!- stuff. Also, should I buy a GPU that has DirectX10 capability or wait for a little while.
Computer Upgrade Specs:

DirectX10 GPU: XFX GeForce 8600 GT XXX / 256MB DDR3 / SLI Ready / PCI Express / DL Dual DVI / HDTV / Video Card ($164.99)
Other GPU: HIS Radeon X1550 / 256MB GDDR2 / PCI / Dual DVI / HDTV / Video Card ($139.99)

Motherboard and CPU: Asus M2N-E SLI NVIDIA Socket AM2 ATX Motherboard and an AMD Athlon 64 X2 4600+ 2.40GHz OEM Processor ($229.99)

RAM: Corsair Value Select Dual Channel 2048MB PC4200 DDR2 Memory(2 x 1024MB)
($119.99)

Wait for other DX10 cards, the 8600GT is a joke. I wouldn't get the X1550 either... AMD Processor? That would only be smart if you got a 3600 Brisbane, and overclocked it to 3.0 + ghz, and you were on a budget build. Ram is fine, you probably don't need 4 gigs though.

Could you guys please suggest a good GPU or a motherboard and CPU that are compatible? I would like a CPU that has 2 cores please.

Power of Will is a Weapon. Never Die!

The 8600GTS isn't a bad value. Anything below that though, isn't really worth it.

if i were you i wouldnt even bother with the 8600 series they are crap from all the reviews i have read (but im a graphic whore i have to have good graphics so if you can stand lower graphics performance then yeah go ahead and get it)

for the mother board make sure everything is compatible i dont know how tech savvy you are so just a warning.

good ramm from what i hear corsair is good (i think that is what is in my comp but not sure.....)

What Graphics Processor would you recommend I get then? I would like to get a DirectX10 capable card so I won't have to upgrade again for at least a year.

Well, I wouldn't recommend an 8600 Series, I don't believe they're worth the price. ATI's DX10 parts are coming out May 14th, so we'll see how they do, which is what I recommend before buying anything, since it's just over a week away. But if you HAD to buy now, nothing short of an 8800GTS 320mb.
