I'm a tad confused here. We have the alpha, the internal beta and the public beta which you call the delta... but what happened to the gamma?

When enquiring about this, KP said...
(AFKP) we're playing the beta
(AFKP) you'll play the delta
(AFKP) forget the word gamma

Actually that's a really good point! I mean, I was banned a while back due to a glitch with the site's automated anti-ban-cheat stuff. Turns out I must have used a public machine/IP at Southampton Uni which someone else who got banned also used. It'd suck if that got in the way of Delta-age.

I'm in a similar situation; Was once accidentally banned by Ghandi 2, about 20 minutes before he "accidentally" banned shishka.

How long ago was that blacklisting, Fragula?

I hear all blacklists before the new Hawtness are no longer on your record. Also, I'm pretty sure he means if you were banned at that particular moment of selection. Seems a bit silly otherwise. There's plenty of great members who have slipped up at least once.

(i.e. Replying to a troll gets you a 7-day blacklist with some moderators) Harmless mistake.

35,000 B.net F&F codes?

Wow. The first fair bit of the beta distribution i've seen. Can i have your babies?

Can i have your babies anyway?

Or, just the number of codes to be given out? :P

I was ruled out from the very beginning because of the -blam!- messed up Account linking system? :C
Or because of an old blacklisting?

Well I used this account to link up my 360, then got around to B.net registration... Bah... Whatever. Not the end of the world.

Sadly, the account linking system is what it is and cannot be changed here (to my knowledge).

We're all using a Windows Live ID to login to our Bungie.Net accounts. It is the fact that the WLID (owned by Windows Live) has a link to a gamertag (owned by XBL) and Bungie just views and uses that association when it is made.

There really isn't a direct link between a Bungie account and a gamertag. It's all through 3rd parties. At least that is my understanding of how it works and why it can cause problems.

Reach MMO. Here's to hoping.

And the people that believe "the hardcore playlists would be more popular if the rules were strictly MLG" can come off it, now. If you're not willing to support something close to your own setup, there's no reason for us to believe that cloning our own lists and stripping the variety down will attract more people. -- Shishka, Bungie.net

I really wonder how many codes there were.

50?
100?
500?
1,000?
5,000?

I could pee my pants, its only 4 days away to find out!

This is an interesting thing that Bungie is doing. Its nice of them to reward their fans with little things like this. I'm wondering if they didn't exclude some of the more dedicated and longstanding members of the community by disregarding anyone who has been blacklisted.

I mean, most of the members who are in "high standing" have been blacklisted at some time or another, in my experience. Of course, they could have followed the rules and I wouldn't blame Achronos for leaving out accounts that had been blacklisted.

I think its completely random. Im sure a person who posts everyday for the past gagillion years won't get it, but someone who doesn't post...ever will get in and not check their pm box...but getting 5 extra days on the beta still sounds nice regardless :)

Wow, so I'm automatically excluded just because I chose to use a different email from my linked gamertag email ? That's messed up.

No. It makes sense.
Why would they give codes to accounts that aren't linked to a gamertag? You may be an exception, but lots of people here might not have gamertags.. They get this random code for something they can't even participate in? That's messed up.

Well, they could ask in the PM if I do have a gamertag. I'd be happy to give them my gamertag so that they could identify it's me or not. But the way Achronos is saying it, it's like as soon as they see your profile and you don't have your gamertag linked, it's an automatic no no. I even emailed some of the Bnet employees who work on this site and asked if there was a way to link my gamertag email to my Bnet account without having to create a whole new account (this one). I got no answer from them so I created this account more than a month ago.

:(

No, just kidding.. Fragula, think of it this way; we'll be playing a version no one else is playing right now. It'll be the newer (and probably changed) version. Not too confusing. ;)

Domino, I'm sorry to hear that you didn't link it to your older account.. I see no reason why you didn't. At this point, I would send a very nice PM to Achronos asking if you could at least qualify. Of course, they already picked people, and I'm sure Achronos would slap me for suggesting that. :P I don't know. :\ Remember, most of us don't expect to be in on the Friends and Family program either, even if we qualified for the selection process.

I'm curious as to why you didn't link it to your Domino Theory account, and instead made a new one to link it to.

The gamma accidently fell through a rift in the space-time continuum, successfully releasing itself on 2M1207b in the year 2367 BC. Twice.

I blame Stosh.

My reason ? Because I don't know how. I made my first Bnet account (Domino Theory) back in September and didn't use the linked gamertag email. I then emailed some of the people who work on this site and asked if there was a way to link it without having to create a new account. I got no response, so this is how Domino Theory 2 was created.

Oh well..

that which is not dead can eternal lie, but with strange aeons even death may die.

Question.

If you have been semi blacklisted and warned do you still have a chance to get in?

and also, If you have crackdown, and have been selected via Rule of 3, can you still be select to play it 5 days early?

Why, exactly, would you need three entrances to the beta?
