1. Introduction to the Xbox Controller to PC hard mod
The Xbox Controller to PC hard mod is a mod that takes only a couple of minutes and does not require much. I completed it in around 5 minutes. It only requires an Xbox Controller, Male USB Cord and some electrical tape along with some pliers or pocket knife.

1.
a. Are ther any Issues?
The only issues would be that you sacrifice the Xbox Controller and USB cord along with driver support, computers are different you know.

---

1.
b. Of course, as long as you can set up the controller to the game : )

---

2. Getting Started.
To get started, get together some electrical tape, xbox controller and male USB cord.

---

2.
a. The first step is to seperate the controller to the input at the very end.
Then simply strip it so that the wires are showing (there is a layer of silver wirery stuff and a silver coating, take an inch of it so that a white, yellow, red, green and black wires are shown.

--

2.
b. Then cut the USB cord in the middle and repeat.

---

2.
c. stip the wires and connect (ex. white to white) them either by saudering iron or twisting and wrap each wire in tape and then, when done with the wires, wrap it in tape were you dide the connecting (to keep wires safe from damage).

---

2.
d. The yellow wire is the microphone / mem. card wire, simply cut it off.

---

3. Drivers
You need to download a driver, a good one is XBCD - XBox Controller Driver. It supports 98, 2000 and XP, install, connect the modified controller and simply when it asks to install driver for the controller (USB HUB), locate the driver in the program files. Then go to the driver via start menu and select the game pad 1. Then open the game and select the controls how ever it's possible.

Stupid parents let their stupid children play games that are rated M when they should be playing Big Birds Spelling Adventures

Also the AR is actually good in CQB now and no longer a glorified baseball bat.

Why not just buy a 360 controller? It's guaranteed to work, simple to set up, and it doesn't require messing with wires and the such.

Yes i agree, but xbox 360 controllers arent as easy to modify to your exact needs, say you wanted to put in an extra button or external switch (examples only), they would be easier because of the minimal hardware inside of the origanal controller.

I had an original xbox controller that rusted on the connections to the port on the xbox...so it stopped working. i remembered my friend saying something about doing that and looked it up and found the tut on xbox-scene. It actually works considering the ports on the original xbox are usb!

Edit: However, i'd never do this to a working xbox controller.
