"I have no words that would do justice to the atrocities you commit to the English language, as well as your continued assaults on the concepts of basic literacy and logical reasoning."
Ah, but the benefit of having a specialized forum like that is that if someone tries to pull that kind of crap in the Halo 3 beta forum, they'll be banned quickly. Offtopic crap and the usual flaming topics will not be tolerated there... and the moderators will be encouraged to be heavy handed and Shishka-like to everyone in there.
Furthermore, it is quite easy to ban you from the beta itself if a forum ban doesn't make the point.

Well... I'd like to see some kind of restriction on posting in the H3 Beta forum. I think it will be a useful tool for those in the Beta to bring up legitimate grievances etc. etc., but then those will be diluted and obscured by people who aren't in the Beta making threads or even just agreeing with things they don't know about...
For instance, say the pistol really did suck, and someone playing the beta had a legitimate complaint. The thread would not be people from the Beta talking about it and weighing up the pros and cons, giving their input... It would mostly be people who haven't played shouting "YEAH IT SUX BRING BACK THE M6DEEEEE!!!".
I seriously believe that any H3 Beta forum should be restricted in that only those with a linked GT in the Beta can create posts. Everyone can read it, and discussions from information in there could be held in the Halo 3 Forum, but only those who actually have any experience to back up their points may raise issues/discuss topics...
Means less work sorting out the wheat from the chaff - "I can pull this flag through this wall" vs. "GLITCHES ARE BACK BUNGIE SUX" which could have come from anyone. The latter, unfortunately, is likely to spawn a more active thread than the former, thus junk like that could push real problems down and out of view. :\
Perhaps easier than a dedicated forum, a dedicated group, that everyone can join but only those invited may post in? Ah, I'm sure you've got it covered. [;
