What I really liked about Halo 1 is that each weapon had its uses and each was fun to use but required skill to use also. We didn't have 20 different SMGs or 20 different pistols because we only needed one. What I really liked about Halo 1 was each weapon wasn't like the other.

For example the Plasma Rifle.

In Halo 1 this weapon was an actual weapon. It was the Covenant's assault rifle, because it had a high rate of fire, did really good damage, and slowed down enemies when they got hit by it.

In Halo 2 this weapon wasn't it self anymore. It felt like an SMG, it didn't have a good damage output, and what happened to the slow down effect when someone gets shot by it?!

In Halo 2 the SMG, Plasma Rifle, Needler, and the Brute Plasma Rifle are all the same thing. They all done the same damage and they all felt like an SMG. Why do we need so many weapons that do the same thing?

I fear that in Halo 3 Bungie is going to throw in a bunch of new weapons and features and not focus on what makes it fun. I could play a game with a hundred guns, but if they all feel the same and aren't fun to use it will be a boring game, but if I play a game where there is only 10 weapons but each is unique and fun to use then that will be a good game.

Remember quality not quantity.

I've got a fan!

True, that while many weapons in Halo 2 are *similar*, they act as a different function. The needler pretty much sucks unless the guy doesn't dodge at all, brute plasma works better with SMG than regular, but it's all about preferance.

Yeah, Duel wielding changed the gameplay. Not the covenant assault rifle is the carbine.

But uhhh, I think there are plenty of differences between the duel wield weapons.
the PR drains shields faster, while the SMG does more health damage.

but thats just me.
I do wonder about the function of the spiker rifle.

To be fair, they never actually placed brute plasma on any maps until Turf.

But yes, I think you're right. Although I've always wanted the Plasma Rifle to be more like an actual assault rifle (I'm thinking M16 or M4, the Halo's AR) than what it is now.

dude every gun is unique in it's own way. the needler in H2 is very different from the SMG. first off it's projectiles follow the target, second theres a delay and they explode, and it's purple! i really don't see how all the guns in H2 were 'the same'. Be more specific, and how was the plasma rifle in H1 'an actual weapon'? are you stupid, in H2 the plasma rifle is a weapon, and it's still the covie AR. just because they downgraded the damage doesn't mean it's not a weapon! in fact the plasma rifle has saved my life countless times due to the fact that it's a weapon! I agree with the quality not quantity thing but dude be more specific.

BTW, watching Naruto doesn't make you a ninja.

-just adding to my previous post-

I can see wat u mean kinda. you would rather have the two handed PR instead of the dual PR? ok but they did that to balance the gameplay, if you could dual wield 2 H1 PR's u would be untouchable.

It has the word "Halo" in its title. That means an automatic campaign playthrough for me.
