Good, bad, I'm the guy with the clichéd lines.

Not sure if this is the right place to put this, so I apologize if it's in the wrong spot. I just noticed there were threads here about the forums so I figured this is where this topic would go. Anyways here are a few things I'd like with the forums.

1. The signature thing where you scroll the mouse over the avatar is great. Brilliant, I would say. One problem is that the last line it shows it cuts off the bottom part of the text. It would be cool if the size of the rectangle was increased a little more vertically to show all of the text. Here is an example of what I'm talking about.

2. Also I noticed that if you put text down far enough it doesn't show up at all. Which isn't that big of a deal cause the rectangle you give should allow for enough space. But maybe when someone's signature exceeds the height of the rectangle it adds a vertical scroll bar that lets you scroll through the signature without changing the size of the signature rectangle?

3. I think that when you're not signed in it should still show the reply and message user links under people's posts. Then when someone not signed in clicks on them it will bring them to the sign in page. And then after they sign in it brings them to the page it would have been had they had been signed in previously. So click on reply link, sign in, then go to the reply screen.

4. Add a new reply link to the bottom of every thread. The reason it wouldn't be on the top and bottom is that the top has watch this thread. So top of page would have new topic and watch this thread and bottom would have new topic and new reply. I think there should be a new reply link at the bottom because it can be confusing to new people how to post. Sometimes in forums people will hit new topic when they're trying to reply. I know when I first joined recently I couldn't figure out how to post right away because I thought reply under user's posts was how you quoted them.

5. If there was a new reply link at the bottom of the page, I think it should function in a manner that shows the whole page. The whole page would probably be under the reply box, so people don't have to scroll to reply. But sometimes when I hit reply I want to double check real quick what someone else said and I can't unless I get out of the reply screen. Or if that was too resource intensive (I don't know if it would be or not) maybe it could just be like hitting reply under the first post. The first post is the one most important after all.

That's all I could think of. I might be sounding a bit nit-picky since they aren't really that big of a deal. I just thought I'd mention some thoughts going on in my head. I like these forums very much. Whenever I'm downloading something and I have trouble going to sites cause it's going slow, I'm still able to browse the forums here easily. And I would like to thank the person(s) who made the forum for doing a good job. :)

6. The lack of quoting feature available from a user's post to PM.

I work here: Sound Devices, LLC. We make bad-ass field audio gear, and you think that's awesome. My messy desk (With work-related items on the computer screen).

I think the reason the box is the size it is is to encourage people to choose interesting / relevant things for their sig instead of just piling anything in there.

Good idea.

I think we need to implement a sub-forum system here.
Move The Flood to the top of the forum list. Place The News second.
Rename Bungie Community back to The Septagon, and place it under an 'umbrella' forum, a new Bungie Community.
Place The Gallery, Voting Booth, Underground and Classifieds under Bungie Community, and add in Technical Forum Help.
Create another 'umbrella' forum, Halo: Xbox/360. Sub forums would be Halo 1, Halo 2 Game, Halo 2 Playlists, Halo 3 Game, Halo 3 Beta (obviously removed when the beta is over) and Halo 3 Playlists.
The third 'umbrella' would be Halo: PC/Mac. Sub-forums would be Halo 1, Halo 1 Custom Edition, Halo 2, Halo 2 Custom Content (obviously Halo 3 and Halo 3 Custom would be added later).
All of the sub-forums would be seen from the main forum list, and the 'umbrella' forums could be used as General forums.
It is a major site structure overhaul, but one that should be fairly easy to implement. Of course, I in no way expect this to occur. Ever.

Please?
