I'm just gonna say that I'm mainly into Halo because of the novels, but it's a d*mn fun game series. I can't play console FPSers for shiznit, plus I do believe it belongs on the PC in the first place, but I don't really care - Microsoft uses it as a tool for selling XBoxes, they know we know it, and most of us have accepted it. I've already gotten used to waiting 2+ years for the PC version of the game. I'm happy it's coming out at all. There was a period of time when I didn't ever think any of them were coming out on PC. And Halo2 being Vista-only kinda sucks, and I feel for people because it's not worth getting a new OS just for this old-*ss game, especially with how much Vista costs. I just got lucky because my friend works for Microsoft so I got Vista from the company store for dirt cheap. I just buy the Halo games on PC to show Microsoft people actually do want it on PC and are buying it, though my measly $50 isn't gonna really send a message, and even if it did I'm sure Microsoft doesn't care.
But anyways, I've had Halo 2 Vista reserved and fully paid for at a local GameStop for months now, and on Sunday evening I saw a news post on the site FiringSquad.com that says Halo 2 Vista was delayed until May 22nd. And so today, at 2:10 pm EST I called the GameStop I had it reserved it, and they said that it is now shipping May 22nd and will be available for pickup May 23rd. I'm not gonna lie, that kinda really pissed me off. Now I don't get bent all outta shape when these kinds of things happen, because it happens so much. But honestly I'm a gamer, and I get excited for games, and one cannot help but feel greatly disappointed when one thinks they are about to bring home a game they waited years for, only to find out it was delayed. Even two weeks hurts when you've been waiting years. An early warning would have softened the blow, last minute surprises suck. So yeah I went about the rest of my day, handling final exams and whatnot, and now I'm just chillin' at home, but still it kinda bothers me. Kinda took me by surprise is all. Though I don't think I should be surprised.
Some of you get on our cases because we get upset when a game we've been waiting for gets delayed. Cut us some slack, we are gamers and we look forward to the day when we can play the games we've been waiting for, on our platform of choice. When that day slips away, it can disappoint. It hurts some of us more than others, but I'm sure you can understand how we feel. I just wish we heard about this delay a little earlier on. If I had, I probably wouldn't give a d*mn. It's these last-minute surprises that bother me. Aiight well whatever that's my little rant.
