Today is my birth day and I got halo as my b-day present :P. (one of my presents). (keep in mind I'm NOT a noob. I've been playing this game for about 2 weeks with the demo version)

When I'm playing in an online game, I have the HIGHEST ping out of anyone in the entire game. I get roughly 230-300 ping during the game, while everyone else is running around with 90ms pings :|. I'm plugged into the router with ethernet, NOT through wireless. I have Comcast Cable internet, which is one of the fastest you can get in the world. My parents do web-design, so they got the fastest internet we could get.

Can anyone tell me why I'm having this lag? Its really making me mad.

Do you live in the United States? I assume yes becuase you have Comcast, but you never know. If not, that could be your problem. Playing in a server created cross-continent could cause a higher ping on your end. What is your usual connection speed (in terms of Mbps)?

Try forwarding the proper ports for halo on your router. (I think its in the 2301-2303 range)

There should be an option in your router prefs page for "virtual servers", "port forwarding", or "special applications". You have to specify that you want to receive the halo connections to your computer by specifying your local IP address and the ports you want to forward. Every router is different, so I can't tell you exactly what to click. Oh and usually the router management is located at 192.168.1.1,but this can vary (10.10.0.1 on some routers or even 172.254.something)

Or, you might have a firewall thats somehow blocking someof your connection so you're loosing packets.
