Is it really just $4???i mean think about it...about 50,000 people play halo2 online ( say 40,000 people payed for da maps) dat equals a total amount of $120,000...dats alot of money...bungie are rippin people off and charging da maps earlier so they can get their money and making them free later when they are satisfied with their money....although it is just all bussiness but i still think they should of made da maps for free and could of avoided all these problems....but once again is all bout da MONEY!!!!!!!!....my membership is about 2 expire dat means i only got a few months left to play the new maps on halo2 and get my rank up...i really dont know if i want 2 renew my membership because is causing me alot money for one stupid fun game.....its just a GAME...Not a new car so I suggest dat bungie stop ripping people off!!! ***NICE UPDATE BY DAY :)*** (its about time)

Wow, so many complainers on Bungie.net today.... First of all, if you are surprised that Bungie is going to release the maps for free, you're a moron. EVERY time Bungie has released an initial map pack it has later become available for free. Secondly, if you're "pissed" because "payed" for the maps and they will now be free in a month, you're a moron. it was FOUR DOLLARS people, you can't even eat at a fast food joint for that much. Jesus, some of you have a lot of growing up to do...
Alright - just think for a second about your own job. All the time and work that goes into whatever business you have to do whatever it is it does. Now think about the number of people that need to be paid. On Bungie's side, anyone who had anything to do with the making of these maps had to be paid for however many days they've worked. Even if it's just a team of 10 people working for 2 months on these maps, that's 60 x 10 = 600 days. At a minimum of $8 an hour for 8 hours a day ($64 per day) that's $38,400 simply for labor. More than likely they had a larger team working on the maps working longer hours and getting paid more. Plus they still have to turn a profit.
