"Science without religion is lame. Religion without science is blind." - Albert Einstien

I would enjoy being a part of the b.net team. I have always liked running a forum, and love to see what is going on behind the scenes. I also feel I could be of great help in the future. Im not sure I would necessarily want to be a ninja, more likely on the web team than the moderators, but I would be happy as a moderator if I could be one.

anyone who's played more than you has no life

anyone who's played less than you is a noob

Because they dont like spam?

Personally I'm happy to be a member - it'd be a bit crap to not be able to enter a discussion without people quoting what you wrote and swooning like some love-struck-puppy.

I didn't join for the perks, because I didn't know there WERE many perks until I got them.

Frankly, I don't know why. To quote a Star Trek episode and show myself being truly nerdy: "Why does a painter paint? Why does a boxer box?"

For the power...the ability to squash a person into oblivion under the sheer force of their whims. So that they may rule over the forums with an iron fisted gauntlet to crush any that oppose them in their path to dominance so that one day they may say that we are truly submissive to their wills.

Well, I heard Evilcam just likes slapping people around.

*rubs cheek* :(

Also, Achilles probably hit the nail on the head.. Believe it or not, it's actually enjoyable to help out in the community, considering you help out in the correct manner. Who would've thought?

If you don't got it, you want it. If you got it, you want more of it. Of course if you don't know what it is, it's hard to get any in the first place.

Because I can.

Agreed. I spend lots of time on my favorite community projects (mouse over my avatar to see them) because they are enjoyable -- I get absolutely no rewards or perks whatsoever, except for enjoyable conversations and more interesting (i.e., trivial) knowledge.

It's like asking why a person volunteers to run a book club or agrees to take on being chairperson of a committee at work. They just like helping out for the good of whatever community they are involved in.

That's pretty much how I see it.

That's because you have to be extremely good looking to be a moderator, but not to be chairperson of a committee.

We must be talking about different moderators.

Strange evolution how people have come to believe
That we are it's greatest achievement
We're barely, we're just a collection of cells
Overrating themselves

Why would someone choose to be a Forum Ninja?Masochism.

I enjoy being berated for doing my (volunteer) job and getting PMs telling me how stupid I am and how I was wrong only to have the replies blocked by some arrogant twit who thinks his crap don't stink.

Hmm, that got some sick wheel turning in my head, you can use English swear words here, huh?

You bunch of minge bags.

[You see, it's posts like these I'd love to kill if I were a Ninja, but I'd have an itchy trigger finger for the execution button, which is probably why they don't trust me, even though I've been here for 4 years, but have only once been banned for going ape-shit on a poster who made a thread in the wrong board. I'd love to be a Mod, just to clean up this mess of a forum.]

You're welcome.

I think that they might do it for some slightly different lesser reasons but for the main reason of helping the site.

Seems Bob does it to relieve tension so he doesn't shoot somebody. Recon does it to distract himself from the kids that are always messing around on his lawn. I guess Anton does it to help manage his MPS.
