Well, they might not be cheap, but it sure does seem like it! Every game I play I get TRIPLE TEAMED and DOUBLE TEAMED the entire match. People chasing me side by side chooting at me with pistols :|. On top of this, I get my kills stolen almost every time. If I'm beating someone down for a minute with the pistol (or something like that) than when their JUST about to die someone else gets the kill!

Can someone give me some tips? I'M REALLY GETTING TIRED OF THIS :(

Clearly you have a serious problem with teamwork. If the enemy is using it it's '"cheap tactics!!1one!" and if your teammates help you it's "OMG YOU STOLE MY KILL!!!". Learn to not blindly rush out in the open where you're the only target surrounded by lots of other people, and move around fairly close to a few other teammates. The opposing fire will be shared out among your allies and your enemies will be more likely to be injured when you shoot them meaning you should get kills as well. For example a hog with gunner seriously increases the killitude of the vehicle vs lightly armed infantry and even heavy infantry (if you stay away from them and let your gunner do the work). Remember, in team games it's not just you who wins, it's the team. Coming in first is still losing if you're on the losing team.

In free for all games, just shoot better and don't run out into the open; try to use grenades to finish people off, especially if they are engaged in fights themselves: you are far more likely to get a kill like that than by pistol alone, since it does more damage.

Also, shoot better and try practicing headshots. It's always an advantage.

No, I do FINE with teamwork. I'm talking about free-for-alls when this happens. No matter how careful I am, I ALWAYS get double/triple teamed. And yes, I know how to aim >_>. I've gotten very good with pistol Head Shots.

Don't know what to tell you, if your being careful you should not be getting into triple teams. My free-for-all strategy is to seek out the best players and engage them when they are distracted with another player. Hold on, that what is happening to you! I may be on to something. /sarcasm

If you're "good with the pistol" as you say, how come in your original post, you said "while I'm fighting my opponent with the pistol for a MINUTE" (or something alogn the lines of that, I don't feel like checking)? A 3-5sk (which is how much it takes to kill someone with the pistol from headshot to bodyshot), only takes about 5-7 seconds. 10 seconds if you prefer firing slowly.

So technically, learn how the hell to aim and how to compensate for lag.

Ah.

In that case, if you can't stand the heat, get out of the frigging spawn zone.

Seriously, if you stand around at spawn, multiple enemies WILL spawn behind you and it's likely you will be targeted. If you want to choose your battles, GTFO and run for a teleport or something and get some distance. Most players will prioritize the nearer targets as the bigger threat, so will fire at them first. Get further away, and pick them off. This works best on Blood Gulch, where everyone spawns around red/blue base. It's less effective on Sidewinder (spawn still mostly round the base, but occasionally in the centre bit and the side cliffs) and it's a total toss-up in Ice Fields. On smaller maps such as Longest or Wizard, theres no way in hell you're getting out of a pistol fragfest fifteen ways from hell, so throw grenades before you die, you pitifully mortal scumbag. I mean player.

Slaying noobs since 2007.

I don't say this often but in your case I will make an exception. But before I say it lets take a look at some honorable mentions, like what Kim said, learn-2-aim, and remember this is slayer, no one is going to cry foul this is how slayer is played. Now comes what I have to tell you. You either are a n00b, or have poor sportsmanship.

do you all have something against me or something? YOu all are acting like I'm a noob who can't play this game. I'm not a noob OK guys? I'm just saying that no matter what I do, I get double/triple teamed ALL THE TIME. No matter if I stay far away or anything!

Stop flaming me because you "think"I'm a noob.

And obviously I was EXAGERATING when I said I shot them for a minute. Don't you think I might have been exagerating a little?

You guys have issues. I wanted some tips of what to do and instead I got flamed. You guys are a bunch of jerks.

You are a noob, nothing wrong with being a noob though. Practice with the pistol, this is not the best forum to look for halo PC tips on.

Yes, I'm going to have to say that I agree, Hell i'm a noob with the pistol, IMO I think people are classified as noob until they can master the pistol, get some decent head shots more than usual, and be able to just learn to avoid getting double and triple team, so Half or more of the Halo PC community and Xbox community are noobs.

If you think this is bad, just wait till our old friend the sword comes back in H2v. Then this is going to be a noob fest. Yet I still go by the theory that the Shotgun pw3ns the sword if you know how to use it. Yet most don't, so beware 0_o

Yup time to start ownin noobs.
Some ways to pwn swords
1.On xbox I used to side step a lot of lunges so I'll be tryin to do this.
2.Shot gun does pwn swords also.
3.Rockets can be quite effective too...
4. Sniper rifle.

Sit back, and throw nades, and shoot people with the pistol/sniper.

  • 05.10.2007 2:35 PM PDT

My suggestions are simple: Find a spot with a good view of the area but also has good cover. Running out in the open will just have you hearing those respawn beeps more often. if you see a target, fling a grenade at them and immediately start unloading your pistol at their head. (or other weapon if the pistol's disabled for that map). another thing is to pay attention to your weapons set. Obviously you should always hold onto the pistol, but having a good secondary weapon for short range encounters can save you more htan once.

I am the self-proclaimed kill stealer. 1 on 1 i lose pretty much every time. You have to use the map, your enemies, even your teammates to your advantage. Don't shoot people unless you believe they will die before they can get to cover or kill you. Use grenades to force people into deathtraps. When fighting 1 on 2, focus on one person, always try to get at least 1 kill per death, which is easy if you use grenades and the pistol well. Which is the other thing, don't run out unprepared.

It's rarely a good idea to warp out in BG without grabbing available nades, pistol ammo, sniper, etc.

I DO play free-for-all. Thats what I was talking about.
Actually, I take that back--play team games since FFA gametypes are essentially set up for stealing kills.
