I love it. Brilliant... absolutely brilliant.
Yes, yes. I was one of the ones who complained. Complained bitterly.
Not because I can't afford $4 - I can.
Not because people need to be paid for work. I have no problem with that. Someone offers me something, I decide whether I want it, then I buy it if it's worthwhile. They get paid if their work is worth paying money for. That's the modern world.
But if someone forces me to pay something, I have a problem. Microsoft owns Bungie. They set the price on these maps. They decided it would be a one-off tax on the Halo 2 population, killing all the worthwhile playlists to force us to cough up to fill their coffers - which are already overflowing. Don't tell me Halo isn't massively in profit already. THEY DIDN'T NEED THIS MONEY. IT WAS MOTIVATED BY GREED.
But they've taxed their tax. You suckers have paid. They got you.
Not me. I didn't pay.
I'm taking a few months off Halo 2. I'm gonna play a bit of Guitar Hero, gonna finish off those last Crackdown missions. Gonna go out to some bars, see some shows, download some TV.
Gonna love that Halo 3 beta.
And come July I'm gonna download those new maps. For free. Like they should have been in the first place, if they weren't an optional download.
And you people who paid $4? You're gonna tell me I'm a -blam!-. You're gonna tell me I should have smiled as I paid my dues, just grateful that they deigned to let us keep playing a game we paid for, on a service we keep paying for, for such a small amount of money.
And I would have got a whole two months extra play on two crappy maps out of 20-odd. Woo-effing-hoo.
Enjoy, people. See you in 8 weeks time.
I think its worth more to buy em now for $4 than to wait for 2 months to get em. realy dude its only $4
