I was really looking forward to today. Not because it is the tenth day in May and not because the playlists were updated and the ranks reset. I was actually hoping that I would sign on to Bungie.net and find happy gamers with vibrant topics, as opposed to the endless whining that has dominated these forums for the last month. I was mistaken... I am truly sad that this community as a whole feels the need to -blam!- about every little thing and acts totally thankless. Truly sad.

Your not all bad, just most of you. I have lost my interest in new mombasa and therefore I amdone with forums for a while. Whine on whiners.

That's the modern internet for you. Show me an internet forum that isn't filled with whingers, and I'll show you ten million that are.

However, given the sudden stream of bile directed Bungie's way.... did it occur to you that maybe, just maybe, Bungie did something wrong?

Nah... It's just a bunch of whingers, isn't it... Bungie must be in the right. Thousands of complaints must be wrong.

Keep smiling!

I am not saying the so called whiners are wrong. I am not saying they are right either. I am just sick of the worthless dribble that is repeatedly posted as a new topic. "I still can't download the maps, WTF BUNGIE!?!", is not a NEW topic.

Stop your whining.

Let me reassure you that this is not deisgned to be a whine itself. To whine about whiners would be less than logical. I am simply stating that I find it sad that the forums have succumb to mindless dribble, instead of a place to talk about the game itself. Please share your thoughts, or even better, start a new thread about a topic that has some value for the rest of us (and yes I understand this thread can be catogorized as worthless).

I am hereby calling on the Halo 2 community to rethink the purpose of these forums and move forward with intelligent, meaningful, and productive posts/topics that are designed to benifit fellow gamers.

Uh, what do you expect? This forum is infested with so many immature kids who have yet to get through puberty, much less any sort of responsibility in life.

So, I am asking too much? Would my latest request go unacheived even with a massive movement or possibly more assistance from the Ninjas?

More than likely. Just learn to ignore it like I do. I really only go into topics that seem interesting and worth the time. People's personal problems are of no interest to me so I don't bother with those topics. After a while you won't even notice a tenth of the complaining that goes on.

I agree, and I have the skills to ignore them, but they start ten topics that say the same thing and push the good content down. There have been 35 new threads this morning -blam!-ing about BTB being unranked. None of them are good because there are 35 and each one gets 4 posts and then bumped by a new kid that starts the same thread!. Why can't these kids post in the thread already created?

Maybe we can just centralize the whiners into a single thread?

To forum Ninja: Can we start a thread of interest titled: "Flame Bungie Here" and then lock posts of this nature everywere else?

Yes, while I was typing this the forum ninja went lock crazy on all the whiners! YES!

So true.

However, given the sudden stream of bile directed Bungie's way.... did it occur to you that maybe, just maybe, Bungie did something wrong?

No they didn't, CA made new maps for us, Bungie was going to make it 360 only to avoid the dumb complication but a lot of people complained and Bungie sat it to be fair to put them on both consoles. I'm sure it wasn't easy making them available on both consoles using the in game content downloader when the 360 uses the marketplace and only the marketplace.

If you think they did something wrong with the maps they didn't, glitches were found and glitches were fixed, I blame this community for going out and searching for those types of things. People in this community ripped those maps apart looking for things like that. As for the maps being 4 dollars, blame Microsoft, they own Bungie and say what goes. Making it so if you wanted all the playlists in match making you'd have to buy the maps, well that’s not wrong, it’s their game and they can do what they want. We don't pay anything for the all match making we play and I highly doubt that four dollars on a one time payment is that bad.

Resetting the stats, very smart move because it brings players closer together since the community has thinned. It took forever in some cases to find a game, and most people cheated to get their levels, so now we get to see how legit people really are. If people are upset because they "worked" hard for their rank, then they need to get a life, ranks are here to match people at or around the same level, so a level 1 isn't being raped by a level 37.

So if you thought Bungie did something wrong please explain it to me because I’m at a loss there.

Nah... It's just a bunch of whingers, isn't it... Bungie must be in the right. Thousands of complaints must be wrong.

Bungie thinks about what’s best for the majority, not the few "thousands" (prove that number please) which believe it or not is the minority. People are going to complain and they are pathetic in doing so and I am also sad to see what has happened to this community, stand by Bungie's side and respect what they do if your a fan, if not, then find another game to play and complain about because we're sick of it here.

Yes, I was being glib.

But these forums aren't your personal 'halo-tainment' channel. This is the place anyone with any kind of grievance about the game is supposed to come and talk about it. Don't enjoy reading it? Don't find it constructive? Don't find it stimulating? It doesn't matter! Don't read it all then!

I am MUCH sicker of reading people trying to suppress other people's complaints, than the actual complaints themselves. At least one has a point, no matter how outspoken - the other is just senseless -blam!-ing.

They've tried that many times before but people just ignore those threads and still make their own. Personally, if I was a mod I'd just blacklist them all on sight. No mercy. It'll never happen but a man can dream.

I didn't know they tried, but damn, they failed miserably. I am dreaming with you.

To Titan: Thanks for the post, but what do you say we do about the actual topic of this thread, which is, ridding our forums of repeating whiners?

Apparently you don't get it, people are sick of coming to the forums for constructive discussions and all we can ever see is the same posts over and over

"STATS RESET WHAAAA"
"PLEASE HELP CAN'T GET MAPS"
"NEW MAPS"
"When is the reset?"
"Hey bungie you lost a fan"
"BTB not ranked wtf!"
"We have to pay for the maps?"
"OMG if we don't get the maps we lose MM?"

Those are just examples, I don't even go into those topics anymore because I've heard it a thousand times. I read a select few topics in the New Mombassa forums, I'd rather spend my time in the flood where people can just be people and not everyone is whining about stupid crap. Don't respond to this Rythmkiller, because I don't like reading what people like you have to say anyomore either and you won't get a response from me if you do reply.

Nothing we really can do, maybe hope for a mod to post a sticky that threatens to blacklist people who continue to post the same topics, or lock their topics. But Bungie.net is a free website with free access to the forums so its not like they can force people to act the way they want and complain about what they want. It's a lose, lose for people like us. Have you been to the flood? They tend to be fun.

Agreed, but does everyone that has a greivance have to start a new thread or does it make more sense to add to the existing flamers?

Don't enjoy reading it? Don't find it constructive? Don't find it stimulating? It doesn't matter! Don't read it all then!

See above, improper thread creation causes my valued content to get pushed to page three and therefore is left without response or with very little input. If the whining was done in a single location, undoubtably remaining at the top because its the most popular thread, other points of interest could have the front page too.

I am MUCH sicker of reading people trying to suppress other people's complaints, than the actual complaints themselves. At least one has a point, no matter how outspoken - the other is just senseless -blam!-ing.

I am not trying to suppress your right to free speech, whine on dude! I just want to channel that bad energy into a single place where like minded fellows can -blam!- all day long. Rythm, would you be so kind as to start a thread called "Flame Bungie Here"? I think you and your fellow whiners would have a grand time.

I totally agree with you I barely come here anymore, it's quite sad.. and just wat till the lil' ones get out of school later today, it'll be even worse.. I'm dreading summer.. I probably wont even come here till school starts up again.. it's just a bunch of immature little kids thinking B.net is their personal blog, lol...

In the end the mods are the only ones that can help, but you are correct, a free site is hard to regulate.

Did you really think that on the day after the update that was not well received by the B.net community there would be vibrant and colorful topics??? It is an adjustment period to the new update, but I seriously doubt that anything will happen in the next couple of days except for whining and complaining. It is ashame, but it has been proven, in this case, that the B.net community is not listened to and does not have much say in what is gonna happen to MM. It is like an Iron Fist and Bungie wields it.
