I hope it is better than Ghosts of Onyx, which is definitely the "Halo 2" of the novel series.

That's not nice! I liked that book and Halo 2...

Johnson must be like 50 then...at the very least 48. Didnt really think of him as that old. He must have been 18 if he was on harvest since 18 is the military drafting age, unless thats changed but is doubtful since we werent involved in a conflict prior to his enlistment. Add on the thirty years after and boom he must be at least 48 unless the book shows his life as a kid...

Unless of course he's aging differently because he IS a Spartan - Many people believe he is one of (if not the only) the remaining Spartan - 1's

"I pledge to punch all switches, to never shoot where I could use grenades, to admit the existence of no level except Total Carnage, to never use caps lock as my "run" key, and to never, ever, leave a single BoB alive."

2B || !2B - Why don't you look Inside the Machine?

Sounds like this is going to be an excellent addition to the Halo Universe. I do have to say that I'm quite interested in reading the book; anything written from the mind of a grunt voice actor should be interesting.

He lead the cinematics team for all Halo games

[or as they used to call it, back in the days of pre-Halo development, the Sin-o-matiXXX team]

That is actually an intriguing idea, but I think people might be reading into this a little too much. I just can't wait to see how he got those plasma burns that saved his life. This book will hopefully clear things up for me.

The End

‘The conscious is cancerous if allowed to linger’

"Even if you're on the right track, you'll get run over if you just sit there."

Sounds good to me!

So will Johnson throw 50 plasma grenades and get radiation poisioning in the book then?!

WTF?! Another Halo book already? I haven't even purchased Ghosts of Onyx yet! It would help if it was actually available in British bookshops, but I guess there's always t'Interwebz.

Oh right, right, Microsoft is supposed to put ankle bracelets on all internal Beta testers. Come on, it's nobody's fault except those few idiots who did it themselves.

The easiest way to kill all Covenant.

1. Put a sign on a door that says. Forerunner Artifacts here.
2. Watch them pile in.
3. Blow it to pieces.
4. Repeat!

Great news!!! Finally something new to read since Ghosts of Onyx. I hope we get some nice indept information of Johnson and ofcourse those covenant guys (which I hope are the prophets.)

Yay! GoO is the Awsome sequal to the previous (but also awsome) books. xD Ghosts of Onyx was well done, and had a good ending you entitiled to you opinion, but it sucks. ;) Ghosts of Onyx had a good storyline and elaborated on the happenings of the other spartans and just because it's not directly realted to the immediate story line doesn't mean it sucks. Great plot/character development and great settings. Joe's book elaborates on thing that where happening while the Spartans where doing other thing in The Fall of Reach, or so I beleive. :)

Awsome! It will be interesting to see where it all began. Not to mention a Kick-ass young Sgt. Johnson (although he probably isn't a sargent yet).

Just remember... I keep it real...

Nice
