Arbiter?
"No..."

^^^^
Probably a reference to Red vs. Blue, so I'm expecting to see some Arbiter action!

This books will be great. I have been waiting a long time for the unveiling of the questionable history behind this badass we call Johnson. Hopefully it will turn out to be a fantastic read.

Joe Staten and Bungie, FTW!

You mean I have to buy another Halo novel! Haha...just kidding. I'll be glad to read it! Can't wait!

Glad to see someone from Bungie is taking a crack at the novels. I shoveld through all the novels the first being pretty...oh, horrendous, and Nylund's latest Ghosts of Onyx being the best. Hope, Staten can keep up the with the progress.

I always wanted a classical author pic, so congrats on that small menial feat, that is the mark of any great author. Lets hope the book backs it up.\

Can't wait to pick it up and see what Joe's writing chops are made of...other than chops. And if it does suck, at least he can say he's a published novelist.

Staten. Whoa. Amazing.

Edit: To say I couldn't be more excited about any fiction expansion. Well, maybe that thing with Peter Jackson. Staten = Awesome.

don't take me too seriously..

Definetly looking forward to this book.

Over the last few years I’ve been helping with the fiction on a number of external projects including the Halo film and Ensemble Studios’ “Halo Wars."So they're still working on the movie? It seems like Bungie just ignored it or something, they never really confirmed anything other than "postponed" :(

This book will be a very interesting change to the Halo universe most of us know. The comic book has been the only big step outside of the main storyline of Halo, and the fact that the spartans play no part, or at least anything very significant will make it a controversial book. I like Sarge, and if the book has Halo on the front of it, I will buy it. I once bought Ringworld, believeing it may tie in to Halo. It actually was pretty close, sorta, kinda not really entirely. The thing I'm thinking of right now is, Halo books about the Spartans were made after Halo games from the perspective of Spartans were made. So if this Halo book revolves arounf the more military/ marine part of the war, are we close to seeing Peter Jackson's game? Possibly a big surprise at this years E3??? Interesting. Joseph, you'll do a fine job, relax!

Awesomage!
I love the Halo novels, brilliant way to flesh out the universe, and getting some more background on Johnson will rock, maybe we'll find out why he's such a fricking badass now ( other than Paris IV )

  • 05.11.2007 2:33 AM PDT

A witty signature you say ! ? well at the moment i have nothing witty that springs to mind, so sory..................nope still nothing.......

Awesome!

defiantly pick this up when it's out, I’ve wanted to know more about Johnson’s back story and I think it's a great choice of time frame for the book to be set in, it will be an interesting take on the halo universe, with the humans just coming into contact with the covenant. I have no doubt that if Joseph Staten is writing it the plot will be nothing short of epic. I'm sure it will be a great read.

Cheers Frankie

Yay... a story taking place in the fall of reach.
Ugh... but it's something I have to add if Halo 3 comes out the same time as this.
Wish it was sometime sooner.... well at least I hope it comes out before Halo 3.
Anyone know? I'd look it up, but I'm sure most of you know. Researching is something I don't do often. :P

It said that there will be covenant characters from Halo 2 which i am very excited about because i love reading and experiencing things from the covenant point of view...

Some of these characters may and most likely wil be: Specs ops commander, Rtas Vuduamee AKA "Half Jaw", Tartarus and the Prophet of Truth...

No disrespect to Staten, but what happened to Nylund? Was he ditched or did he turn down another Halo book deal? I really enjoyed Eric's execution of bringing the Halo universe to print. He did an absolutely excellent job in writing 3 of the 4 previous books, and I hope that he isn't finished.

This isn't to say, however, that Staten won't be up to par because I believe he can and will do a good job. It's just we have nothing to compare to Eric's books, and this will be his first novel...

We'll just have to see, though...

Cheers.
