I've probably met around 50 kids claiming to be "semi-pro" in halo. Does this mean your semi-professional, because that means you actually make money off playing. I'm not too familiar with the MLG tournaments, but doesn't only the top 8 teams get money. Of those top 8 teams like 4 of them consistently make it there (pro teams). The only "semi-pro" kids are the one's that earn money that aren't legit pro right? Just because you go to the MLG events and get your a$s handed to you doesn't make you a semi-pro

Only pro's get paid to go to MLG events. Not semi-pros.

Top 16 teams in MLGpro.com are considered "Pro" Halo 2 players. Some of them have contracts with MLG, for instance Final Boss is contracted for $1 Million over a 4 year period. The 16 teams below the top 16 are considered Semi-Pro and don't have contracts.. ie. make money.
