Reason rumble pit is not ranked is because there is not enough people playing halo 2 anymore so they made less matchmaking play lists ranked to condense the people so waiting for a game would not take as long.
I do not think that is the reason. I never had to wait vey long for a match. I'm having to wait longer today, as a matter of fact, than I had to yesterday.
According screen crawl, there were:
410,000 games played in the last 24 hours.
225,000 players were on in the last 24 hours.
28,000 players (minus me) are on right now.
I'm not positive, but I don't think that's the kind of loss of interest that would require "condensing" the player base. It'd be nice to look back and see stats for the same 24 hours a year ago, though: Maybe last year 500,000 of us we were playing a million games a day, 60,000 at a time.
-blam!-, maybe we were!
But even if the player base has diminshed, I don't think thats a good reason to have only team-based gamestypes in the ranked playlists.
