ranked games are rediculously hard, this rank reset sucks, I was a 24 & now I'm a 2 in Team slayer, I've played like 10 games & have won 1, my advice is to w8 a few weeks before playing ranked games, let those who were lvl 30 - 60 get higher so you don't play them till you're on their level... This rank reset has made me not want to play Halo 2, mayb btb & swat, but thats it for now, wots the point of playing ranked games when you don't know how good the people you play are, everytime I've played, I got pwned, not bcos I'm $h!t, but bcos I'm playing level 30's - 40's. It's like playing derankers ranking back up, but all of them used to be lvl 60 or sumthing... so yeah w8 a week or two so that things are more fair...

I haven't run into any good people yet. Well, I can only play Double Team, and Team Hardcore, at the moment.

Edit: On a side note, Hoo boy!

Just so you know, the highest rank is a 50, not a 60. And I agree with you playing right now. All the pros and the cheaters and the higher levels are going to be OWNING and getting their levels back up. I've played Slayer and Snipes and have lost a lot. It'll all die down soon...hopefully, and we'll be able to play people who are actually on our own levels.

Teamwork means staying out of my way.

If you can't beat level 30's then you aren't really that great.

I haven't played any great players yet. But I hope I do. I enjoy the interaction. I wish I could play them more. My rank means nothing to me. I just enjoy the game.

Don't you think it's defeats the purpose of the rank if you wait to only play people of lesser skill so you can win? Just play. If you honestly value your rank, than you should accept the lower rank when you lose.

I don't like levelling up playing people below my skill level, but I'd prefer to know the level of the people I'm playing , I mean Halo 3 is gonna do that with the rank & skill level, so if they deranked, u can still see how good they are (hopefully) maybe when I hav enough friends online to play team slayer, it probably was a mistake to play team slayer by myself,...

Not everyone is a high rank in Halo 2, nor do they play often. There is such a thing as a casual gamer. While you think your awesome b/c of your rank, it proves nothing outside of a game that cost fifty dollars. As far if someone is good or not, that is a judgment call and an opinion and guess what opinions are like a certain orafice, everyone's got one.

It's never a mistake to play Halo. You can go into Team Slayer by yourself. I do all the time. In fact, it's the only true way to judge your skill.

In my opinion, the mistake is judging your game experience by rank. You can still have a great time playing Halo win or lose. Don't worry about your rank.

Like I said before, most of it is out of your control. You can't control how well your teammates will play. You can't control how good your opponents are. You can't control your opponents or your teammates integrity. You can't control how good your connection is vs your opponents.

Just play.

Well, if you wait to play until all the 30+'s are 30+'s again, then you'll be ruining it for the low level peeps. It's really a no win situation.

I think you just got unlucky with your first 10 games. I was a mere 29 before the reset and I straight owned in the two games I played last night.

Naturally, in one of the games the other team complained about the noob combo being used on their sorry butts, but it wouldn't have changed the outcome had I not used it... I just would have tea-bagged them less because they wouldn't of had their mouths open and running all game.

What really blows my mind is that the game has been out since how the hell long ago, and lil trick a-- fools still complain about a tactic that's been known, and avoidable, for the entire time since then.

lol well I don't mind goin in 2 ts alone, but everygame I played sum1 on my team had no kills or quit, I do think about my rank, but more about my kill death ratio, if people quit, there is more chance thats gonna go down, I love halo, tho I've never played through campaign or Halo CE even, I got into it through the multiplayer, but yeah it's just quitters that piss me off the most, unless we're getting proper owned, but then again that's still selfish. & about not being able to beat level 30 players, well I havent played many level 30s & above, I've been stuck at the level 24 / 25 level, u do have 2 b very good 2 get there (lvl 30), I probably am not that gr8 but thats 1 of the reasons Y I play, I wanna raise my level, I also play for fun, but u can't help gettin frustrated when u lose loads of games due to people on ur team leaving or not even tryning.... It's nice that every1 that has replied here hasn't left any silly comments, I hope it'll b lyk this for the halo 3 beta as well as halo 3, but then again we hav the a-hole button for that :P

I pity those people who get angry when they can't win easily and don't want to challenge themselves.

well I jus played a few games with some friends, I hav 2 say its still a challenge but I won some games... right now playing with friends wud b the way 2 go, that way u kno they rn't gonna quit on u & try their best, at least I sniped sum good players, & we won a game on tombstone which at one point we were losing by ten... I don't mind a challenge, as long as the people in my team don't mind & don't quit...

About that 2 v 4 thing, yeah I kno I've come back in a 1 v 4 & won the game before, but when u get owned really hard, & they have all the great weapons, say on warlock, they all have BRs, shotguns or r dualwielding smg & plasmas, & ur behind by like 15, u kno that u'd have 2 b a halo god to win that game... I am no halo God, & I do try, but yeah...

Yeah, I've played a few games since the reset, and I've only won a couple of those, but I'm looking at it as a skill building test. I figure, by playing all these higher-level people, it'll help me improve my skills.

I love the reset because people aren't worried about losing their rank anymore. I know I stopped playing when I couldn't get past a 31 in TS. Every time I would get in the 30's there would be all kinds of modders and glitchers (though I know the updates have significantly helped the modding and standbying now). But honestly, like everyone else said, just have fun. And when you do get into higher levels, if you do want to have fun, you almost always need to have a team you know and work well with. It's really hard to get higher than 30 without a decent team behind you (another one of my problems). I'm not the star player, I'm a good support person. You need those other role players and you can't just take the luck of the draw and get some quitters or those with inflated ranks thanks to their modder buddies. I suggest getting a good friends list for Halo 3.

Overall, I'm not having as much fun as I was having before the reset. Regardless of my rank, I was having some good clean, even matches for about a month's time before the reset. I had never had that long of a stretch playing rather enjoyable games. Now all I get are high levels, potty-mouthed teenagers who think they are God's gift to Earth by being good in Halo and it sickens me.
