Okay, so let me get this straight.

I buy the game and pay for x-box live to play online multiplayer.
First map packs are release, but are OPTIONAL (that's fine and the way it should be)
Now the new map packs are released and you're forced to buy them to play Multiplayer ranked games....
So basically some of the functionality that I initially purchased has been forcefully removed unless I PAY to Update.
So in essence I'm paying again for something I already paid for.

Now on a side note, I have NO problem paying for updates that are OPTIONAL but this isn't really an optional update.
I read in another forum a guy said he has no problem paying for Quality products, neither do I, however I hardly call a broken map pack "quality updates"

I know this may or may not be bungie's fault and the long arm of Microsoft probably had more to do with it, but that doesn't matter much. The fact remains that the execution of the map packs and all the updates that go along with them should have either been free and mandatory update, or Paid, and Optional.

how is this a different take? this is the exact same whining that everyone has posted. If you don't want to pay, then play customs or go play Gears or something

This is a different take because my take is that I still can't download the damn things.
