Poll: How do you think grenades should work in Halo 2?  [closed]
Just like they were in Halo: Combat Evolve:  37%
(13 Votes)
They can det without having to touch the ground:  6%
(2 Votes)
After hitting the L Trigger, you can hold grenades:  6%
(2 Votes)
They do both 2 and 3 in Halo 2:  34%
(12 Votes)
Other (type in your own ideas):  17%
(6 Votes)
Total Votes: 35

explination for option 2: In Halo CE, the grenades timer till it blows didn't start till it hit a surface... Throwing 2 grenades, one straight to the ground and one in the air at the same time, the grenade on the ground would det first. 2 stats that the grenades timer starts the instant you hit the L Trigger, the timer is obviously increased as well (so you can make long throwers before it blows)

explination for option 3: QuakeWorld Team Fortress was the first gave I've heard of that you don't have to switch your main weapon to use a grenade (which, IMO is a hell of alot better), but the different between it and Halo is that if you held the grenade throwing button down, you could hold it in your hand and let the time till it blew up. People used this so the grenade would det very shortly after they actually tossed it (or det in their hands for failed success). That's what I'd like to see personally in Halo 2 as well...

Now vote =O

I think that you should be able to hold grenades and then throw them, but they should also set a timer to when you pull it, to when you have to throw it before it explodes, or else it goes BOOM in your own hand.

I want to be able to "cook" my grenades, at least the fragmentation grenade. People who have played RtCW on Xbox now what I mean. It had a four second fuse, you can hold the trigger, then you hear three clicks and then it will explode. This way you can perfectly time a grenade and have it detonate without giving your opponent the chance to get away (if done correctly). It loved throwing cooked grenades into the trenches on the "Beach Invasion" map.

What do you think?

Edit/ or just the way as they did in Halo would be fine as well, that worked pretty well.

one thing i'd want to be in halo 2 is the ability for plasma s to be able to stick to anything. not just creatures and the ground. it would be cool to be able to like stick them to trees and walls furthering the element of surprise.

um... that's #4 on my list... The way I want it is pretty much the same as how RtCW had them, except you don't switch your weapons (excluding duel weapons) to use a grenade...

I find grenades being used like this to be far more useful in tactically situations...

Now, if only people would post reasons to why they wanted this (to those who just voted and nothing more)

The Master Chief emerged from his code. After seeing his dynamically lit realtime shadow, he went back for 9 more months of development.

Behold the power of the Originals, the Gods Axeone-Neurone.

Not sticking to trees and walls is what the grenade does Its described in the books.

It would be a nice idea to have timed grenades but it would alter the game play quite a bit. You would not be able to throw a grenade long distances in case it exploded in mid air, giving away ur position. Alternatively, if you were being charged at and you threw your grenade but hadn't held it for long enough its going to just hit your opponents on the head in stead of exploding. Or you could just be sneaky and charge back at them with a grenade in your hands and commit suicide but blow them up too! That would be pretty cool.

that's why I mentioned a longer grenade time so you can get some distance out of the grenades in the game...

Besides, if you threw grenades in Halo: Combat Evolve at someone charging you there's probably a good chance he'll get distance between it before it did anything serious to him... That would be your own fault for no being prepared for up coming isutuations...

Also, I didn't add how the plasma grenade worked because I didn't want people having to decide between two answers they wanted to go with... If you think a plasma grenade should act differently in some manner feel free to type it...

Well, they are talking about the physics... so I don't know. But I did read that the nades will be Improved... in the updates. So maybe you can cook a frag-nade, not plasma... it would stick to your hand!!!

Wow, you're right. Never thought of that. Plasma grenades already have the advantage of being able to stick, so they don't need the "cook" feature anyway. :-)

Wasn't Master Cheif holding the Plasma Grenade at the end of the E3 demo last year?

How about frag nades from the left hand and plasma from the right, when you put them together you get a plasrag and double the explosion!!
I have always wanted to be able to shoot grenades and make them explode, before they have been collected. Imagine the situation, guy dies, drops nades adversary runs to collect them and you shoot them, killing him with the force of up to 16 grenades.....boom!

I'm not that active, but never dead.

Think about it, what's the year? 2552? By then I think someone would have thought of smart grenades by then. Grenades that would comunicate with your battle suit or whatever and would wait untill you have thrown them the explode. It would count down from 5 and when it hit 2 it would stop counting.

I say you should be able to somehow chose what time it detonates, sometime between 1-5 seconds. and there should be mines too, mines are cool.

its a little cheap, but it would be so fun if right before you die you could pull all the keys on your grenades. a little cheap, but it would be so funny as revenge.

On the side note, I can misteriously vote again... Is that supposed to happen every few days?

I would like it if you could "cook" gernades as you all say. There is countless times in BG that I have thrown a gernade in the base and it didn't explode on time and all the other players escaped alive.

I think 2 and 3 are fine, but it would be really hectic if you could dual weild grenades. Think of chucking a frag with a plasma to make it travel farther, or 2 frags at once to clear a base for flag runners.
