ok, ive been havinsome major problems hosting games since...well, ever. and i just found this out today. my friend and first got halo, i tried to host the first game and i couldnt. we thought it was just a weird thing, maybe somethin was wrong.

but i tried hosting, again and again. i kept 16-people CTF servers on all night long, and noone would join, bringing me to the final conclusion that i could not host any games.

when you try to join my games, it says retrying server...4 or 5 times, then Unable to join game!

my friend told me it was somethin with my router..i have a belkin 802.11b wireless 2.4 GHz router, adelphia high-speed internet, and a dell 4600 dimensions desktop.the router box says it comes with a NAT and SPI firewall, that might be a problem, but im too scared to shut it off, if i did know how to. my freind said maybe some ports were closed that i needed, but ports 2302 and 2303 are opened...

hmmm..please help?

Suggestion: don't host games. If your computer hates hosting, it's better that you don't plug away and try to force it to comply. Join games or have your friends host.

I got the same trouble man. To simply except this problem is a bitter pill to swallow. It pisses me off that as long as online games have been around that Firewall, router and game developers can't find a solution to this mess.

yeah...its the ip. when ur through a router, the ip gets messed up and people wont be able to join. thats why i cant make a server in halo but i can in battlefield vietnam. battlefield vietnam lets you type in your own ip or choose from a detected one. you should be able to make a server after opening the ports, disabling any software firewalls, and connect directly to the internet.(no router)
