I have a quick question about requirements for Halo 2.

I own a NVIDIA Quadro FX 1400, it is a mid-range product in it's line up. It meets the technical requirements, Shader Model 3.0, DX9, so on and so forth. Keepin' it short, it was mentioned in the requirements that "at least nVidia 6000 or ATI x700 or above" is needed. I don't know if this will stop me from playing this game, even though I meet the technical requirements.

Anyone? Thanks!

Quadro FX are decent cards..but there not designed for gaming... so poor performance.

sorry man that thing sucks ass, can you play anything on that? at the moment i wouldnt take the any developer for their word about system specs. i recently bought rainbow six vegas, i exceeded the recomended spec but it still lagged like crap. but then again theres so much that can go wrong with all these quad cores and 8800 ultras so maybe it will work, who nows, not me!

Yup. You can have a decent card, but if it wasn't built for gaming, you're better off trying to meet the requirement specs. =/

I can play Rainbow Six Vegas, on medium, no problem. Doesn't lag what so ever. It's actually a half decent video card, but if I have to get a new card to play Halo 2, no thanks!

You should be able to run it no problem, if you can run Rainbow Six Vegas fine on medium. I have an x1600 and I have to play Rainbow Six Vegas on low settings to get no lag, but it still meets the requirements for Halo 2 Vista. People are just saying it sux because they're not familiar with "workstation" video cards.

how much(in pounds if possible) would a graphics card capable of running h2v smoothly cost?

Your card should be alright, though like others said, I'm not sure how it is for games.

Thanks for the help DsurioN and Pet0sh,

I tested the trail version of Halo to see if my graphics card would produce a smooth image and it looks crisp. Even though that technology is old for Halo, it gives me a little idea of whatever.

I haven't seen Halo look any nicer, http://i187.photobucket.com/albums/x186/Jaggedmute/HaloSample .jpg
