*picks up the Unnamed skull* alas, poor Keves - I knew him well... *proceeds to bash Sarge with the skull* ~ seriously, bashing sarge after getting the unnamed skull in Halo 2 is so much fun...

In halo one I went through whole series of rooms without ever being seen (play the Thief games, and you'll learn the joy of blackjacking someone ^_^)

HERE IS MY INSIGNIA

1. Desolation appears FAR too often in team slayer (of my first 10 games, like 6-8 were in desolation...)

2. Desolation's double dose of overshields (I can't think of any other map that does this... one should instead be a camoflauge) has created a new type of noob... the overshield noob from people who just spend the whole game collecting those overshields.

3. The spawning system for zanzibar is making blue and red spawn right next to eachother (on the beach) in the beginning, and if someone spawns in base after death, normally someone from the other team will die and spawn right behind you (I was assassinated via this method...)

4. On one flag CTF in Tombstone, the spawning system for the maps seems off again, because if one team gets the flag to the bottom of their base, and the opposite team has the blue base (the one you're scoring at) under complete seige (all 4 people are there and in different positions on the base) people will still spawn RIGHT IN THE BASE, RIGHT NEXT TO THE FLAG, and this leads to a game that normally only lasts 12-20 minutes, a HALF HOUR to play. Instead people should really not spawn when there are people from the other team right around them.

5. Melee's depraved now, it takes a few shots+2 melees to kill someone now... or 3 melees...if someone is sucky enough you can hit them 2 times, they really should die of embarassment at least, don't make me add injury to...er more injury by having to hit them again.

6. Apparently the SMG is unusually accurate on one of the new maps (I believe tombstone is what I was told, but note this is what I was TOLD, I don't know about this one)

7. The yellow spaces for other players can be full for like a minute sometimes and it won't start the match O.O that's annoyed me before but usually it was on BTB that this happened... it's been happening to me on things like hardcore :$

To most of you who thought this was probably going to be about ranking and stuff, I stick out my tongue :P, I may HATE the fact that BTB is both changed into MTB (medium team battle, not big anymore) due to the fact that only 6 max can play instead of 8 (I know more isn't always better, but in this case, it is...) and the fact that it isn't ranked... ok, screw not ranting about this, I can't help myself.... what sucks about it not being ranked is not JUST the fact that fewer people will play it... but that people are more likely to quit now... I mean, before you didn't quit if you didn't like a certain game because you didn't want to lose your rank... but NOW you see things like "aww crap, it's freakin territories on relic? I'm so outta here..." and the people just quit, leaving the poor teammates who actually enjoy a game with lots of people to suffer defeat because as soon as that one person quits, people will follow now. At least the ranking was a little insentive to stay and play with your fellow spartans (or elites, I'm not racist I swear!)

Sorry about the rant, really... I just really enjoyed BTB, and saw real potential for tombstone to be a part of that... assault on tombstone would be freakin CRAZY in my oppinion

Alright, but I can't just be a negative person, I'll list some good points...

1. The new maps are now playable in matchmaking (although desolation seems to be being shoved down my throat... I really am almost sick of it)

2. There is a map where the sentinel beam is used (desolation... 2 people shooting sentinel at one person, and a br to finish him off.... beautiful, althought a SLIGHTLY more powerful sentinel would be nice...)

3. The bugs in the maps were fixed (I didn't bother testing it but I trust bungie)

4. All games are a challenge now that everyone is trying to rank back up again :D

5. Ummm.... Idk I just wanted a 5th one XD

THey ruined BTB skirmish when they unranked it. It's really the only game I played and although it had its faults before , now it's totally unplayable. THe addition of guests and people who don't care to play but instead to betray, quit and generally make fools of themselves has gone up 10x. It's disgusting how Bungie has misjudged this change. If they don't bring back the ranked BTB I'll probably never play Live again until the Beta comes and I'll play for 3 weeks than stop again until Halo 3 hits the shelves....I'm just disgusted.....

1) Desolation appearing 6-8 out of 10 is a fluke. It's not weighted that way and you'll find over time it'll even itself out.
2) Two overshields has nothing to do with the update. The map was designed that way so I'm not sure how that applies to the topic.
3) The update didn't change anything about the spawns on Zanzibar. That has happened to me long before the update.
4) Can't Comment
5) They never mentioned changes for weapons or melees so I find it hard to believe they changed them, but maybe. I haven't really tested it.
6) Doubt it, especially if you 'heard it from someone' but I can't comment there either
7) The initial matching seems a little slower to me but I haven't gotten stuck on full yellow boxes (something which has occured in the past anyway).

1. the thing is I'm not the only one who's running into desolation as the main map that I'm playing, nearly all my friends are saying the same thing... the one map they play FAR more often than others is desolation...

2. the two overshields thing I guess isn't a direct result of the update, it's just one unpleasant thing about the fact that I play desolation so much.... it's the only map I can think of with 2 overshields. Think about it, even Coagulation, a HUGE map where 2 overshields wouldn't be too bad if they were on opposite sides of the field has one overshield and one camoflauge. The fact that it's a small map, and has 2 overshields, makes desolation's constant appearances even more annoying.

3. it happened sometimes before on zanzibar, yes, but then it was only occassional, now it's constant.

5. I know the melee weakening isn't THE most recent update -- it actually occured a few weeks ago... I just didn't feel it was big enough to deserve it's own, single thread about, so I just included it in this thread

7 It used to happen before where occassionally when all the boxes were yellow it would still take a minute to start the game (instead of the normal 5-15 seconds) but now it seems to almost always take a minute to do it... this is probably just a result of the refresh in the system where they don't know who's a good host and who isn't yet, but i don't really know.

and you didn't comment on any of the good things I said :P

Good things are boring :) But I'd like to rebut

1) Again I think it's just a statisticall anomoly that will average itself out. I actually have seen threads about the exact opposite circumstances ie. the new maps not showing up much or at all.

2) We agree so nothing to add

3) I've played zanzibar in team slayer (last night) and we didn't have a sea wall/beach spawn...so it doesn't happen constantly. Again I think this had nothing to do with the update.

5) I knew you were refering to the update a few weeks ago as the most recent update just changed the playlists. However, I still remain just as unqualified to confirm or deny the weakening of melees. I should check that one out but honeslty I don't exactly remember how many it took before the update so I wouldn't know if it changed. I guess I'll just go by "feel" when I test it.

7) My statement hasn't changed. I didn't have trouble with yellow boxes last night but it did seem to take a little longer to get a full list of players. There are a number of variables involved here I won't speculate. Doubt it's a problem with the update though, but who knows.

for 1 3 and 7 I was playing this morning and they seem to have gone away... maybe it was just a hiccup left over from the new update... but idk I'm just glad that I have managed to avoid desolation and whatnot :P

BTB is BTB as well, it's not 6 player max :D

TOMBSTONE isnt completely fixed, in team snipers i ve shot many walls to see if it was fixed and juss about every wall bounces bullets so all maps arent fixed homie, ahah
