ok we all know that Halo2 has a lot of auto aim, yet thats not skill. So why do people that dont even play video games go buy a xbox and play halo 2 online and say that they love it, when it really isnt that hard to aim when the gun does it for you. this is why i cant wait for halo 3 on the 16th since it doesnt have auto aim like H2. So why is Halo 2 so massively known every where when its not even better then the first one. and heres a vid for a good example of what im talking about http://media.putfile.com/h2in

If you think about it, Halo 2 dosn't really require much skill. But its the fun moments like getting a stick across map, random glitches, and all that which makes people so addicted. :)

As I lay in my bed at night, looking up at the stars, i wonder where the hell my roof went

30 in slayer and 23 in snipers before reset lol. I suppose you are really, really skilled, but since halo 2 doesn't take any, you just suck, right?

I cant stand when people make these bogus comments.

If it takes less skill than shouldnt you be better at it than you were at Halo 1. That is the only thing that seems logical, I wish people would just take a second and think about what they are saying. How bout you change it to Halo 2 has a different type of skill than Halo 1 did.

If you say you were amazing at Halo 1, which most people that claim halo 2 is bad say. Then shouldnt you be really amazing at Halo 2.

Not aimed at you necessarily but all the people that make these bogus threads.

I think that those are the exact reasons that H2 IS so popular. Ease of play, ehh...at one point, a good set of people to play with. Plus, the Multiplayer is much more developed than a LOT of other games. MM and what not. I believe that a lot of people purchase it simply because so MANY people play it, one of the reasons I bought it in the beginning was because so many of my friends were signing on. Just a coupe things that came to mind.

ok

one- palsma pistol was made to do that in H2 so people would use it more often cause it wasnt widely used (hence the needler being ALOT more powerfull and fast shooting for H3). They also made it that way for dual weilding purposes (stated in xbox mag and others before halo 2's release)

two- You forget just how acurate the pistol from H1 was and how deadly it was because of its accuracy. The battle rifle was made to be less accurate by shooting THREE bullets at a time at slightly different angles offset from straight. This made it alot harder for people to 3SK someone from halfway across the map. so in that video, yes, one of those maybe two of those 3 bullets are hitting that guy when the rectile is off of him, but 1 and probably 2 of them were missing when he was shooting. YOU CAN EVEN SEE 1-2 BULLETS EACH TIME MISSING THE TARGET

three- the plasma rifle along with a few other weapons were made less powerfull and less accurate from halo 1 to halo 2 (it was stated multiple times in xbox mag before halo 2 actually came out) to make the game a little harder. that is also why the plasma from the plasma rifle is hitting the guy in that video when the rectile is offset of him because of less accuracy. NOT TO MENTION HALO TWO HAS KICKBACK FROM AUTOMATIC WEAPONS.

four- halo 1 the shotgun was so powerfull and accurate from a medium range, but look at H2. if your not playing a close quarters combat level or in a CQB section of the map, the shotgun is near worthless.

five- the fall damage?? it was stupid in halo 1 in the first place. MC would fall for like 15 feet (in virtual world) and either die, or most of his life would be taken away. They deleted this from halo 2 for one reason. MASTER CHEIF IS A SUPER SOLIDER WITH SUPER STRENGTH, HE FLIPS OVER TANKS AND WARTHOGS, AND FALLING 15-20 FEET KILLS HIM???? doesnt follow storyline very well.

the sniping, you cant even prove that, the guy with the controller is in control of that, he can easily manipulate if he wants to hit him or not, by choosing when he wants to shoot, so that isnt even credible.

but yes halo 2 is different than halo 1, and halo 2 takes a different type of skill.

People play Halo 2 because it's fun. Not because it's easy.

If Halo 2 was bad, it wouldn't be so "massive" online. That's basically it.

I realize people are opinionated and those opinions differ, but it looks like the majority think it's a good game. End of discussion as far as I'm concerned. =)

Halo 2 takes as much skill as any other shooter. If everyone has equal amount of auto aim and bullet magnetism then everyone is equal and in order to kill your opponent you need to have more skill then them.

Just because there's quite a bit of aim assist does NOT mean this game doesn't take skill.

Case in point- I can demolish new people and guests all day, yet only mildy carry average players, and I struggle against good players.

Why? Because there's SKILL in this game. Hence why some people are better than others. You've noticed that, right? I'm not disagreeing with you that it doesn't take much skill to shoot a BR, but there are a ton of intangibles that you have to learn to be good at this game.

Heck, I'm still learning. As I said, I can't quite keep up with above average players yet, but I'm getting there (definitely.) If this game took no skill, I could just pick up the controller for the first time and start beating up on 40's, no?

It allows enough skill to let me wipe the floor with kids like you all day, yet not enough for me to not get screwed over by a missed melee or some other G@ylo 2 crap and die to a lesser skilled player.

You were born Guilty

Probably cause it's not bad at all. Opinions are not fact, I see a bright future for you at fox news. Anyhoo why do people who don't seem to like the game join its forum and try to pass off their opinions as facts. How many hours have you spent playing halo2 live, if its more than 70 hours then I would say you have gotten your moneys worth and that you probably should not post stuff like this....just an opinion.

Since when does pressing buttons take skill?

Let's emphasize two phrases in this sentence. "people that dont even play video games" and "it really isnt that hard to aim when the gun does it for you."
Make sense? I hope so.

If Halo 2 does not require any skills to play, why don't you finish the game in legendary mode within an hour, video it and post on the internet and see what an easy game we have been playing all these days.

It has lots of auto aim, so what? EVERYONE has it, not just one person, so it depends more on reflexes and quick use of grenades, ways I've out BR'd when the other person attacked first, who also had a BR. So actually, Halo 2 still takes skill.

Oh, and people still play it because it's fun, replayable. IN Halo 3 the Auto Assist was decreased, you can tell in the videos.

I got his sarcasm...one person has to implement sarcasm and then you get a pile of terrorist chipmunks crashing your party, not fun at all..

What an interesting question- why is Halo 2 so bad, yet has so many players. I dunno-maybe it isn't bad!!! Interesting concept I know, Halo 2 is actually an awesome game. Unfortunately some people love crying a river about it because of the "noobishness" of the game so on so forth. Halo 2 takes more skill than Gears- the leading game at the moment. In fact I can say that Halo 2's gameplay is way better than Gears-but we all have our own opinion. If you want a game that takes "skill" go play a Tom Clancy game. I mean when you put all aspects of multiplayer gameplay together and rate the games I don't think there is a game that comes close to Halo 2-think about it. The game was designed for that-fun. It wasnt solely based on the players needing skill although that was a major consideration. So lets think twice before having a rant.

It's not as easy as you say it is. The campaign story is decent, and it's as easy or hard as you want it to be. No complaints there.
And when it comes to online play, I haven't had a moment yet where I thought to myself, "that was easy". I've only played about 200 games, but I've found each of those games to be fun or very frustrating if I was getting owned...
But Halo 2 Online tends to be more fun then frustrating about 85% time. As for easy, unless your doing something very noob or cheating it shouldn't be easy. Auto aimers are cheating, so that's why it would become easy using those.
