Thank you Bungie, for finally giving me a reward for beating your games on Legendary, ridin' solo!

Yeah, I've moved on from Halo 2. I'm playing GoW now. It seems that GoW has a more...mature-player-rate.

(shrugs).

Well there are still a lot of players. I mean, 245,00 is still a lot to me. Besides, you probably won't ever play with ALL of the. Sheesh!

Once again, Mature-Audience. I have yet to meet a boy on GoW go: "WTF?! YOU NOOBS! I PWNED YOUR NOOB ASS!" I'm sure they're there but...(shrugs)

There'll be a massive decline after this Wednesday because of Halo3 Beta.

  • 05.13.2007 5:08 PM PDT

Think for yourself.

I went to the clinic and sold plasma to buy the maps. I also got a free coke and a cookie. I bleed for Halo.

They do exist, believe me, and they come in all ages. Just yesterday I played with/against a guy that was about 20-ish and he talked as much trash as any tweener I've faced in Halo 2 (what made the guy from last night funny was that whenever he won, he would say "See, even without host I destroyed your ass", but when he lost, he said "Well I only lost because you had host". Hmm, but a few minutes ago he claimed that he didn't need to be host to win ;-)).

P.S. The "your host" and "you" comments were directed to the actual host of the game, not me.

When did you ever see this number on a weekend - "243,756 Halo 2 Players (Last 24 Hours)" ???

This number used to be 300,000 - 400,000, before the update!!!!

THE NUMBERS SAYS IT ALL, BUNGIE LOST 20-35% OF ALL THEIR PLAYERS, WITH THIS UPDATE!!!!

Not necessarily. The solution is rather simple though. See, 6:00 AM PDT ain't exactly peak hours. And when you take the last 24 hours -- which would extend back towards 6 AM yesterday -- you would have only one period of Peak Hours(which would be around 6 PM) and two periods of "drought hours" Check again at around 5-6 PM PDT and you'll see the numbers around 400,000.

I'd love to be a 10 year old and tell my mom I'm going on an adventure out into the world catching Pokemon, with her full support. Never mind the fact that there are rapists, criminals, and murders out there, or the fact that I may get killed by a Pokemon.

Luckily I have Pikachu.

Halo 3 BETA

The thread creators argument holds no merit.

it may have something to do with the ranks resetting caused lots of people to get pwned constantly for the next couple weeks, the new maps are not favored among anyone i know, and the beta is getting ready to come out.

you are a moron arent you

read above. perhaps if you looked at all the peak times youd see the number rise and fall. regardless the game is old.

also for fun here is a list from Major Nelson, The live guy at Microsoft, it shows the most played games for the weekend on xbox and on 360

http://www.majornelson.com/archive/2007/05/12/xbox-live-activ ity-for-week-of-5-7.aspx

note halo2 is still the top played xbox 1 title.

also note that 246,000 is only 54,000 less than your bare min 300,000. Remembering last week had the spring update which did brick a few consoles, remember that Forza 2 Demo is out, Also remember that crackdown just got a bunch of new features. There was a lot to throw your gaming time into this past weekend.

AzPaTriX... you are a moron. Please refrain from posting. It is summer. People are doing other things than playing MM. I don't know about Sweden but here in America we actually like to do other activities other than video games.

It doesn't matther how much you twist and turn your explanation, the fact still remains...

Weekend 1 - unique players (330 000)
Weekend 2 - unique players (390 000)
Weekend 3 - unique players (360 000)
Weekend 4 - unique players (370 000)
Weekend 5 - unique players (340 000) (Halo 3 unique players (? ???))
Weekend 6 - unique players (350 000) (Halo 3 unique players (5 000))
Update occurs!!!
Weekend 7 - unique players (240 000) (Halo 3 unique players (5 000))
Weekend 5 - Well, lets see what will happen.......

This was the FIRST TIME EVER, theese numbers changed as much as they did from one weekend to another!

The update brought me back into halo. Finally this game gets almost challenging. The numbers have not been as high as 300-400k players withing 24 hours for a while, please don't pull statistics out of your ass, though that is what everybody does in the world.

  • 05.14.2007 12:42 PM PDT

I wonder if Bungie realizes that the update affects them more than just Halo 2. If the MM updates would have stayed at least somewhat decent, I probably would have gotten H3. Although I wouldn't have a ton of time to play it, summer is coming up and I would probably still have bought it. Now, however, I won't.

I know I'm not alone. Where before I normally had 20-30 players online at any given time, I now rarely have more than 10 online. Right now it's at 2.

Sorry Bungie, but you've lost a lot of fans.

I like how people are sulking over one simple update.

Ranks are not your lives, get out and experience life.

The maps are $4; if you can't afford that, you shouldn't be playing the game [also considering you spent way more then that for the other map packs].

Sure you are permitted to be upset about this, but losing some of their fanbase? Boy oh boy people, you're just as bad as you make Bungie out to be.

Bungies "Friends & Family" got access to the Beta this weekend. Everybody else who will play the Beta have to wait until the 16th.

AzPaTriX, it's obvious that no one is going to convince you otherwise that the drop isn't a big deal, but it still seems to me like you WANT this drop to signal the "end" for Halo 2 and bad times ahead for Bungie and/or Halo 3. Why is that?

My opinion: They messed up BTB. They need to separate slayer and objective games. When you play BTB now, half the people like slayer, half like objective games. So now, no matter what game it is, half the people quit. That turns off alot of folks.

Plus, many people are waiting to play ranked games until the really good players and cheaters rank up so they can rank up against noobs.

LMFAO You whining sons of -blam!-es are still here aren't you? You'll continue to play Halo 2 until Halo 3 comes out and there's nothing more to it. As far as I'm concerned 230,000 people is enough players for me seeing as there's a max. of 16 players in a game anyway. What could a group of -blam!-ing punks know about a game that the guys at bungie don't? There's obviously a reason why have been making changes to MM and I doubt it's simply because they wanted to adopt the role of a "mean kid with a magnifying glass burning all us poor ants to bits." If you don't want to play anymore don't. There will still be hundreds of thousands of others playing right up until Halo 3 is released. Get a hold of yourselves and go back to sucking the H2 teat.
