Here you will need this to help you get your foot out of the back of your throat, looks llike its in there pretty deep. And what is that on your face? Egg?! *hands Kim a washcloth*

^^ No on many points.

First of all the first edition G5 only has 1 side button total whereas the second one has 2 side buttons. I find the side buttons invaluable both in games and web surfing and just about all computing tasks that take advantage of the side buttons.

You also point out that the mx518 only has 4000 DPI less, while I know thats a typo DPI isnt what you should be basing your decision on to buy a mouse. I have an mx518 but I keep on 800 DPI because I like it there more.

Next is the fact that Laser can in fact track on more surfaces than optical.

Tell me the color of the mouse, number of buttons. serial number, etc. Oh and G5 suck for low sensitivty players, Optical > Laser because it has a much higher malfunction speed and acceleration limit then a laser mouse, so you can move it faster before it stops workign correctly, and it has a much higher limit of perfect movement. Also, when do you use 2000 dpi, unless you have a massive screen, thats like 1920x1200. Besides, if you have acceleration turned on in windows it will always mess up your aim. Try comparing a 800 dpi at 500 hertz to a 1200dpi at 125 hertz. The 800 dpi mouse is much better and moves much smoother, by ALOT.

And I doubt you've even USED a laser mouse >_>. Don't sit here and tell me my $70 mouse FAILS when I have used an optical mouse for the past 7 years and the laser is MUCH NICER THAN IT.

My mouse moves MUCH SMOOTHER than your "wonderful" optical mouse.

Its got a dark blue "pattern" on top and the whole mouse is has a "rubberish" feel to it so its really nice to grip and such. Its got 9 buttons. 2 Thumb buttons, 3 scroll wheel buttons (one presses in and you can tilt it left and right), two small buttons below the scroll wheel, and your normal left and right button on the top.

I believe I asked you guys to help me, not have you guys try to tell me my awesome mouse fails.

WELL YOU KNOW WHAT?!?! i have a 5 dollar optical mouse that when you sometimes move it the pointer on the screen flies off in a different direction and in games it causes the (1st person views) screen to point to the sky and spin at like 50 rpm. BEAT THAT!

Yeah, thats bad, it means that teh mouse has a very low malfunction rate that will make it skip very easily. That also means you have very limited perfect control, so the acceleration the mouse you use can handle is very limited. Oh and my mouse used to do that, but I discovered it was a hair infront of the laser. I like to use my dell laser/optical mouse, I just overclock my usb port and it just glides. Oh and there are some very cool emulation things people have made, such as when you press a button it emulates turning the mouse 180 degrees, I think that is a nice reason to have extra buttons.
We need to start up a poll again about mouse sensitivty and in game sensitivity.

Yes, I am a hypocrite, and I'm sorry. I really do mean well, but I'm not running on all cylinders.

Everytime someone buys a copy of Halo 2 Vista, a puppy dies.

Zen sent me a mouse that sounds just like this. It's awesome, but yeah, you can't assign those special buttons to anything in-game.

Irony in your first three sentences--you doubt ART1LL3RY has ever used a laser mouse and then you claim that your mouse is superior to his optical mouse, which I honestly doubt that you've ever used.

That's really a matter of opinion, anyway...

$70 for a mouse? Wow, okay.
I've seen plenty of mice well above that $70, I don't see how this is any worse.

I don't feel like reading.....so first off, Vidiot, tell me if your problem has been solved. I know the answer to it, just PM me, unless of course, it was already solved.
