Halo 2 Vista will offer complete support (including auto-aim, grr) for the Xbox 360 controller. Don't worry about it.

Also the AR is actually good in CQB now and no longer a glorified baseball bat.

You do it the same way you already do on a 360 or regular Xbox. Pull the left trigger for the left gun, and the right one for the right gun. :/

No. You can dual wield, but only one gun can be shot at a time. :/ [/sarcasm]

Sorry. I forgot the tag in my post. Check it again. ;)

What it is.

Ok, in Halo 2, to shoot the left weapon, you press/hold the left trigger(this shoots the weapon in your left hand in the game), to shoot you're right gun press/hold the right trigger(this shoots your right gun). You can do this simultaneously if you want, or depending on your combo-ed weapons you can choose to do w.e...iono, you get the idea?

But both triggers share one axis. If you hold both triggers at once, it will act like the triggers are in normal position.

What are you saying? Both weapons can be fired with one trigger?

1 axis has two ends. Left Trigger and Right Trigger.

Whoops double post.

Doesn't the axis have to do with the thumbstick and the triggers are totally different mechanisms?

why the -blam!- would you buy the pc version of halo 2, only to go and use an xbollox 360 game pad. you may as well buy an xbollox. seems like a case of double standards to me, slag the xbollox off, but use a xbollox game pad to play the game. sad -blam!-s whats wrong with a mouse and keyboard.

Are you talking about using the thumbsticks to separately fire and aim each weapon?

Triggers share an axis? What? Sure they both go the same direction when you push them, but they are fully independent... Post your so called images and diagrams here.

Actually, when you fire both guns only 1 fires a bullet at a time, and it takes 1.5x as long to empty both guns as it would to empty a single gun.

I use right click for jump in every game, in h2v if I get it I will use left click for my first gun, and numpad enter for my second gun. It is all spray with dual wield so it won't matter than I use those controls.

Wait...your jump button's your right click? Dang...what's your nade then?

Nessy's controls are here somewhere - I remember seeing them.

I was kinda impressed by the setup he uses =/

for halo 1, my controls are:

Forward - Numpad 8
Backpedal - Numpad 2
Left Strafe - Numpad 4
Right Strafe - Numpad 6
Crouch - Numpad Ins
Use - Numpad del
Swap Weapon - Numpad 5
Change Weapon - Numpad 7
Second Fire/Grenade - Numpad 9
Zoom - Numpad /
Reload - Numpad +
Fire - Mouse 1
Jump - Mouse 2
Melee - Mouse 3
Change Grenade Type - Numpad 3
View Score - Numpad *

I used to use roll back for grenade and roll forward for zoom, but I did away with those and assigned new buttons since my ball mouse roller broke. This ball mouse is irreplaceable since the sensitivity is has is just perfect for me, I hav bought the same mouse several times and they didn't work as smoothly as this one does.

  • 05.14.2007 3:26 PM PDT

Yeah Nessy it was the zoom that interested me the most lol. I had a feeling that you used (at one point) scroll up for zoom - then when I saw '/' I was like =/ lol
