Unfortunately it has ALWAYS been quit team battle.
At LEAST people would stay for one or two rounds before quitting. Now you go into Big Team Battle and you either get slayer (which people always quit) or a skirmish game (where people quit after a mintue of losing interest and not working together.)
Bungie couldn't have made a worse decision than this. Honestly, it's terrible. And they wouldn't know it either- that's the bad part. They just make changes and expect us to like them. Yet............they don't even play their own match making system. It's not right.
Go into BTB now with a party and it's an utter JOKE. I got one flag on Relic with my friends and we agreed to let the other team have a flag cap just so they wouldn't quit out. We let them have their cap, scored ours in 30 seconds the next round, kept them pinned in their base the round after, and watched them all quit the final round.
Playing by yourself is MISERABLE. Try neutral bomb on Waterworks with two guests on your team whose idea of a good time is driving aimlessly in a Warthog.
Some people (like myself) played BTB and took it seriously. I had a team who I'd play with all the time, and made new friends on different teams along the way. Heck, one of our hated "rival" teams became good friends with us eventually, and we'd party up if our other team mates weren't on.
Sure, there was a problem with usage. But who can you blame for that? Bungie, YOU'RE in charge of putting in new stuff and keeping the list fresh. It's your job to keep a list going, and if you neglet it, who are you to say it should be scrapped because of bad usage? That's more or less hypocracy at its finest.
Guests in unranked lists don't translate into solid play. It's not fun having to run away from an Elite trying to betray you for the sniper. It's not fun watching them drive around in Ghosts betraying each other. Can't blame them though- it IS unranked, so there are no strings attached.
Hence why people quit. It's pretty obvious.
